I hope someone can please help to find where my maternal GGG Grandfather is buried.

I am on a bit of a emotional roller coaster ride at present. I have been searching for years (along with my cousins) to find the death date and place of my maternal GGG Grandfather. I found online last night some transcribed memoirs on the Thorpe Norwich site, written by my GG Grandfather Jesse BALDWIN which I never knew existed. I am endeavoring to find out who the person was that transcribed the letter as I would say they are a direct relative of mine. In  this partially transcribed letter, it states where and when his father died.

George BALDWIN was killed on Jan 5 1854 in a horrific train smash in Thetford. He was a stoker on one of the trains that collided with another. I have now read many articles about the accident in newspapers from the time along with the rather graphic detail of his death, inquest etc.

At the time of Georges death, Jesse writes his father was working Eastern Counties railway - now altered to the Great Eastern Railway. Further into the memoir he says he was living in at 12 Railway cottage Thorpe Hamlet.

Jesse writes that his father was brought home in a coffin, so I know that after the accident he was brought home to "Theoulds Buildings near Foundry Bridge, Norwich at the house next to the river in the first row"

However, my quandary is I cannot find where George BALDWIN is buried.

George BALDWIN
Birth 19 July 1812 in Westminster St Margaret, England.
Death 7 Jan 1854 Thetford Norfolk, Vol: 4b, page 277.

Wife of George
Sarah Ann Ellis

Birth 26 Sept 1813 in Middlesex England
Death Apr 1896 in Norfolk, England.

Son and my GG Grandfather:

Jesse BALDWIN

Birth 7 November 1849 in 16 Spring Place, South Lambeth England
Death Apr 1919 in Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.

Any information on George would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Folks

Looking for some help please to locate my GGGG Grandparents.

David MALCOLM was born abt 1802 in Presonholm - East Lothian.
Elizabeth STEWART was born abt 1802 in Kirkaldy Fife.

The above married 7th June 1830 @ Saint Cuthbert's Edinburgh. I have them both up until the 1851 census then alas, the trail runs cold.

They had the following children:

Elizabeth b. 1832
Alexander Stewart b. 1834 (my GGG Grandfather) married Margaret LESLIE
Helen b. 1837
David b. 1839

The children besides Alexander Stewart I also cannot locate. There is a possibility they may have come to Australia as Alexander did in 1854.

Any  help is always welcomed.
Cheers and thanks  :)

Folks some much needed assistance required please.

The person listed on the bottom of this cert is who I believe to be my GGG Grandfather - Alexander Malcolm. Alas, the writing on this cert is horrid not to mention the huge smudge sitting over the last two columns which conceal key information i.e. marriages and children.

If anyone can decipher I would be extremely grateful.

Kind regards

Glamorganshire / Help PLEASE to find Thomas GEEN from Swansea Wales born abt 1795
« on: Sunday 31 March 13 13:04 BST (UK)  »
G'day

I have pulled the last tuft of hair (ouch) from my head trying to find Thomas GEEN. This gent is my GGGG Grandfather. I am suggesting that Thomas GEEN was born around 1790 - 1795.

Thomas married  (I think he did) Sarah COATES. Sarah was born in Ilfracombe Devon and one could make the assumption ( I know I'm silly to say it) about the same time as Thomas. It states that these two people are the parents of Rachel GEEN on her death cert.  Rachel is my GGG Grandmother and was born in 1822 in Ilfracombe, Devon. She married Charles LEWIS (Ironmonger) who came from Swansea Wales. I do not know if Rachel is the first born, last or in the middle as I cannot find any siblings.

I guess if all else fails, I get Rachel's birth certificate, however I cannot find her birth registered anywhere, and that's the tricky bit. The earliest thing I can find on her is her marriage to Charles (18 March 1848 in Swansea) and then in a 1851 census where she married and living with Charles and has one young daughter Mary.

If anyone can help with this search, it would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards  :)

Folks,

I have been looking for my  GG Grandfathers movements after he hit Australian Soil with no luck. I do not know where he died. I do know some of his children were born near Ballarat in VIC.

Charles William LEWIS was born in Swansea Wales abt 1822. He was married to Rachel GEEN born 1822 in Ilfracombe, Devon, England.

I think Charles came out from England on this vessel. I have no proof as I cannot see the passenger list.

Name:
Charles Lewis
Estimated Birth Year:
abt 1821
Age:
34
Arrival Date:
23 Dec 1855
Arrival Port:
Melbourne, Australia
Departure Port:
Liverpool
Ship:
Hero
Nationality:
English

Daughter Mary LEWIS was born in Swansea (1850)
Son John was born is Swansea (1851)
Son William Edward was born Feb 25 1859 in Tarrengower, Victoria
Daughter Harriett was born December 25 1861 in Ballarat East, Victoria, Australia

I have the dates of the above named children's marriages and deaths etc, however cannot find where Charles went.

Rachel his wife died in Poowong VIC (1899) and makes sense because some of the family settled there. I believe that Rachel on her death cert was listed as a widower.

Charles was an Ironmonger by trade, being an apprentice in Wales.

Any help, would be great.
Many thanks in advance
