Devon / Where was she born Plymouth or India.
« on: Tuesday 27 August 13 15:46 BST (UK)  »
My late grandmother is said to have left her husband & 4 children in Cornwall to follow a doctors son to India in 1910,her name was Alma Beard. In   1912 she had a daughter Natalie Mary,we can find no record of her birth. In 1913 Alma married James Joesph Moran & had 3 sons, one died as a baby the other two Owen Eddy & James Joesph(my father) both were born in Plymouth. All have passed away & my father was the only one to have children so have no other family to ask any questions. On Natalies death cert for her date of birth it just says September 1912 & no place,on her marriage cert she was Moran.Almas youngest son from 1st marriage told us about India, she left him aged 2 & he died aged 98 in 2006 in America.James Moran was in the Navy & was Irish.Does anyone have any ideas ?

Wexford / Doyle-McDonald marriage.
« on: Saturday 15 June 13 13:27 BST (UK)  »
Edward McDonald marries Bridget Doyle, they have 3 children.
Mary born 1865
Michael born 1869
Ambrose born 1872.
Cannot find any trace of Mary.Michael is on the 1911 census but cant find him at the address.
Ambrose marries Mary Doyle. They have 3 children. On the 1911 census the children are Mary 6,Edward 3,John 1 and John Doyle 9.They are living at 30 Newbawn Wexford with Edward & Bridget & the children are all listed as grandchildren so i'm thinking John Doyle was Marys child before marrying Ambrose or was he Bridgets grandchild by another member of the family. My f-i-l was John & we have no idea where Mary,Edward went,my husband has a distant memory of an uncle Jack, was this John Doyle?Would welcome anyones thoughts.
