Galway / John Pelly Galway and Dublin.
« on: Friday 20 July 18 19:42 BST (UK)  »
I've been searching for a while for some more information on a John Pelly. I'm specifically looking to see if I can find his parents and or siblings names and I can't seem to come up with anything (but I am a beginner at genealogy so I'm not sure how to dig deep). So I do have some info on him. He married Ellen Sellars (sometimes sellors) who was born in 1841. They had my great grandfather Michael in 1874 (there were other children also...just have my great grandfathers info written down as of now).
Any help is greatly appreciated. If someone could just point me in the right direction that would be great!!!!
Also, we are assuming he came from the Galway area but they did end up in Dublin eventually.

Thanks again!!!!!

Dublin / Glasnevin childrens paupers graves 1930's
« on: Tuesday 11 October 16 23:09 BST (UK)  »
If someone could point in the right direction I would really appreciate it!!!!  I am looking for the graves of my mom's brothers. Both died in the late 1930's. She's pretty sure they were buried in Glasnevin. One was only a day old and the other was 3 years old (Patrick and Michael Smith..... I know, I know...some of the most common names;-). I've checked the records and unfortunately I can't find graves for them so I was just wondering if there are any mass/paupers graves??  Not sure what happened to children who passed away this young in the 1930's. Pretty sure the 3 year old (Michael) was buried. Not sure about Patrick. They were from inchicore at the time. Parents were Patrick and katherine (sometimes Catherine) Smith (pelly).

Thank you!!!!!

I am trying to help my mother in law find info on her grandmother. Her name is Leora Nickles. She'd married Neil McPhail.  She was born in Ohio and died in California. I've also seen her name Lenora and other versions also. What I'm trying to find is her parents and where they came from.  Also trying to find Neil McPhails death/obituary. Died in California probably somewhere between 1938-1941.

Thank you in advance!!!  Any help is appreciated!!!!  Thank you!!!!

Dublin / Patrick Smith of Meath Street south dublin...mother's maiden name
« on: Friday 17 February 12 02:38 GMT (UK)  »
OK.  My grandfather had one of the most common names in Ireland...Patrick Smith.  We have some information on him but wanted to see if anyone could help me a little bit more.  This is his family in the 1901 census:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Merchants_Quay/Meath_Street/1299523/.

So I know he was born around 1895.  He died around 1959 in Dublin.  His middle name was Augustin/Augustine.  He married Kathleen (Kate, Catherine) Pelly in 1934 (I have the m/c but it only gives his fathers name which was also Patrick).

I am trying to locate his mother's maiden name in hopes to go back a little farther.  I have tried to find his brothers/sisters on familysearch.org but cannot come up with anything concrete enough to say that this is his relation.  I am hoping to eventually get some of his records but his mother's maiden name is almost a necessity :0(

You guys were wonderful in helping me with my grandmothers side and I am still finding more and more out about her side from all the great info you guys gave me and am hoping you can help me with this rather tough one:0)

I also know that he was married before my grandmother but his first wife passed away.  Not even sure of her name.  He lived in Crumlin when he passed away.
Trying to give out as much info as I have.

Thank you for any info you can give me!!

Dublin / Michael pelly deaths marriages
« on: Friday 30 December 11 01:20 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find info on Michael pelly and his family.  I have found them on the 1901 and 1911 census but I know they had more children after 1911 (my grandmother Catherine who later married Patrick smith...her date of death was march 17th 1985). I also know that her sister Anne married James finnegan (not sure of date) and is buried in glasnevin cemetery (as is one of her brothers). Looking to see if there were any more children after 1911 other than my grandmother ( not even sure of her date of birth).  Also looking for dates of deaths and places of burial.....but any and all information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!!
