United States of America / USA Social Security Death Index
« on: Friday 02 April 21 09:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I had an ancestor John Smith Reid born 1890 Midlothian Scotland and emigrated to the USA . He worked in Detroit and became a USA citizen. His wife Isabella Reid died Died 7 February 1982 Detroit Wayne Michigan. Last Address 48021 Eastpointe, Macomb, Michigan. Her death showed on the USA Social Security Death Index.  Why does his death not show on it.
Can a person die in the USA and their death not show on the USA Social Security Death index
Thanks John

World War Two / James McCarthy RAF 2721 D sqdn WW2 Italy
« on: Sunday 22 December 19 15:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am now researching the military background of my wife's late father James McCarthy. He served in RAF 2721 D sqdn WW2 in North Africa and Italy. He was injured somewhere near Rome / Naples. After hospital he appeared to be working with the Medical corp probably on light duties.
I have obtained his service records, surprisingly quick only took 6 weeks. it states he was attached to the:
(AIR 29/485) No. 38 Personnel Transit Centre, C.M.F. 1945 - to early 1946

Has anyone any information on this PTC and what does CMF mean ?

Or any pointers for me to further research would be very useful

Many thanks

Her son George Sandmann age 4 is with her in the Workhouse but I do not know where her husband also named George is.
I have tried to access the Ancestry files online to see any documents regarding to them but to no avail. I just get a standard screen.
Am I doing something wrong or is it the scanned image is not available online just in text.

Any help gratefully received sad they ended up in a workhouse the husband was a German sugar baker from Hannover.

Lancashire / Colonel Hugh Other WRIGHT
« on: Thursday 25 December 14 12:58 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace the wife of Colonel Hugh Other WRIGHT . He was born 7 Dec 1902 Durham and died 1990 Lancaster. His father was Christopher other Wright.

I know Colonel Hugh Other WRIGHT  had a daughter Olivia Elizabeth Wright, but I cannot find any record of a marriage of Colonel Hugh Other WRIGHT.

I know his family travelled to Ireland a lot so maybe he married in Ireland but cannot find a record.
Anything about his military career would also be appreciated.

Hope somebody may be able to help

Many thanks
