Hi Suzy W,
I have Alexander Leal married to Isabell Mowat 19-March-1773, Canisbay, Caithness. The surname may be different, I have found approx 20 different spellings so dont feel that is so important. Alexander died 5-October 1815, at sea in Pentland Firth, off Huna, Caithness, with 5 others on the Huna Ferry. As his eldest Son Benjamin Leal on the 1841 Census is listed as a Ferryman,, whose death notice says he was 40 years a Ferryman 30 of which he was Skipper of the Huna Mailboat. Alexander and Isabella had 5 Sons and 1 Daughter, three of whom I have Families for. I am decended from their second Son John
If this information is of any use to your, please make contact as I have a fair bit of stuff

Would you have a Alexander Lyall who married a Isabel Mowatt in 1773, Caithness, on your tree?
I have a line of Lyall's from the Caithness area. Plus another from Dundee (father's side).
LOL I have a Uncle David Lyall here in New Zealand, must be a few of you out there?
Cheers
Suzy W
