Australia / Samuel Jenkins Rees - Help required from marriage index
« on: Friday 04 May 18 15:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi, as part of my research I have a missing relative Samuel Jenkins Rees who was born in Lampeter Wales on 18th July 1879. He is my great grandfather and disappeared from the family following the birth of my grandmother in 1901.

I have received a potential hint with a similar name in the Australian Marriage Index of a Samuel Jenkins Rees marring a Mary Mitchell but I don't have access to these records and wondered if someone would be kind enough to get me further details of this marriage to determine whether it is the same person.

Any help or information would be appreciated

Cornwall / Edward Charles Benney
« on: Thursday 30 November 17 14:05 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out more about Edward Charles Benney d.o.b 21/9/1907 born in Illogan Cornwall.

I have found him on the 1911 census as an inmate age 3 at Illogan workhouse.

I have also found records at the National Archives for his time in the Royal Navy Reserves Service

I haven't been able to find a birth record for him any where.

I believe he married Florence Hutchens in 1929 and died in 1977 in St Ives.

I have located him on the 1939 register living in St Ives with his family

I would like to identify his mother and father if possible but have exhausted all the avenues open to me at the moment.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

The father David Davies b 1833 Sirhowy Monmouthshire has been located as having died in Jan 1881 so will not show on the 1881 census.

Glamorganshire / Early Demas's
« on: Wednesday 28 December 11 17:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hopefully someone will be able to assist in locating the Demas family on early censuses.

I have located Thomas Demas b 1810 Llangadog Carmarthenshire and his wife Jane b 1804 Llangadog along with daughter Mary b 1838 and son William Thomas b 1841 on the 1861, 1871, 1881 censuses but cannot find them on either the 1841 or 1851 censuses.

Mary and William are recorded later as being born in Merthyr Tydfil so i have searched this location to no avail.

Any help or suggestions on a way forward would be gratefully received.

Seasons Greetings

Breconshire / Anthony - Assistance requested
« on: Wednesday 03 August 11 14:45 BST (UK)  »
I have been researching the Anthony family who i believe originated from Vaynor.

George Anthony born c1805 in Vaynor married Elizabeth Morgans born c1808 Narbeth Pembrokeshire.

I believe George died in around 1835 and he and Elizabeth were married in c1825.

They had 4 children John b 1826, James b 1828, Jane b 1830 and Rachael b 1833.

I have been able to find information on James who is my direct ancestor but have drawn a blank on everyone else.

Any information that could be provided would be most appreciated.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Lost Sanderson
« on: Friday 31 December 10 10:50 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for some inspiration regarding a little known about relative.

Rose (possibly Rosina or Rosine) Sanderson born c1883 was married to Thomas Harding in Hackney on  22 Jan 1905.

I have found this marriage and established that Rose's father was Thomas (deceased)

I have tried to find out more about Rose but can't find her in the 1901 census or the 1891 census.

I have also searched for Thomas's death and on all census's back to 1871.

The problem is I do not know where Thomas and Rose originated from but only know that Rose was in the London (Livermere Road, Hackney) at the time of her marriage.

I have even tried to find the witness's at the wedding (Mr & Mrs Wall) in a vain hope that they would have been neighbours or family friends to no avail.

Any help or suggestions would be appriciated

« on: Saturday 13 November 10 21:00 GMT (UK)  »
I am currently researching relatives whom i believe originated fro Clutton.

I believe that a marriage took place in 1824 between Martha Rogers and Reuben Gardner. Any other information regarding either of these individuals would be appreciated.

In addition I believe their children John (1826), Sarah (1828) Mary Ann (1832) and Hannah (1835) were all born in Clutton.

Any information surrounding any of this family from Parish records would be of great help

Many Thanks

« on: Sunday 28 March 10 22:30 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find some information on a Hannah Gardiner (b. 1827) from Stoke Lyne.

I know she married George Craven in 1846 in Lamberth.

I believe her fathers name was William.

I have found her in the 1851 and 1861 censuses following her marriage.

I believe she died in 1865 in Holburn London.

Any information on her prior to her marriage would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards

Kevin
