I'm looking for three people: Barbara, Isaac, and Deborah Cuffe. Their last name had various spellings and could include Cuff, Cuffee, Cuffe, etc. Barbara may have also gone by Barbary.

Here's what I know:
They lived in Liverpool, Nova Scotia from 1764-1778, possibly to 1780. It's possible they returned to the USA during the American Revolutionary War.

Barbara may have been enslaved by Samuel Bartlett of Plymouth in 1734. However, she was a midwife and a free Black woman during her time in Nova Scotia.

If you could point me in the right direction, that would be great. I've already searched Ancestry and read about half of the the Vital Records for Massachusetts.

Thank you!

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can search for Clement Courtenay Ligoure. He was a physician during the Halifax Explosion (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, 1917).  Clement died in 1922. I'm particularly interested in where he died and was buried. I strongly suspect he may have had a connection to New York.

Thanks,
Amber

Canada / Unknown Relative

I'm looking for a relative...I do not know if he is living or not, and I do not know his name. He would have been born in the 1930s, likely in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. His father was Charles Henry Cornford...he went by Charles Henry (dropped his last name). The child was raised by his mother, as Charles was married to another lady at the time. Any tips would be helpful.

Does anyone know where I can find admittance and discharge records for the Herefordshire and District Working Boys Home and Certified Industrial School? I suspect a relative was there but don't know for sure since Brown is his surname and is quite common.

Thanks

London and Middlesex / St. Pancras Workhouse Records

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any tips when it comes to St. Pancras Workhouse Records? I'm looking for a Henry James Brown and William Brown. They were baptised at St. Pancras on February 10th, 1892. Their parents are Charles Arthur Brown and Sarah Ann Brown (Smith) It says they lived in the Workhouse. However, I couldn't find admittance or settlement records. I combed through the register of children too. It's a very small time frame as both boys appeared on the 1891 census as living at home with their parents. Charles was a butcher and listed it on their baptismal record. I find it odd all I can find is a baptismal record for them and nothing else since they were living there. Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks

London and Middlesex / St. Pancras Workhouse Records

I was wondering if anyone could help me solve a family mystery? My great-grandfather was born in Camden, London, England in abt. 1889. His parents were Charles Arthur Brown and Sarah Ann Brown (Smith). He also had a younger brother named William. I found on Ancestry that they were baptised at St. Pancras on February 10th, 1892. According to my great-grandfather he came to Canada with a sister Nellie. The only record I have of her is her marriage record to Sidney Croucher; she also lists her brother as her father. I would like to find out what happened to Sarah and Charles as I cannot find records on them after the baptismal certificate in 1892 at St. Pancras. They did not come to Canada and also if Nellie is indeed related. (I have a feeling she may not be as the last name Brown is common). As for William, he never made it to Canada with Henry (Harry) or Nellie. I believe that my great-grandfather never knew that he had a brother. I guess I would just like any tips on where to go from here.
