Yorkshire (West Riding) / POWELL family from Leeds

Hi Folks,

Re: Harry Powell b.1883 Leeds

For years and years I have been trying to the DOB of my grandfather Harry Powell.
His mother was Annie Powell so we do not know the father's name.
His brother, Thomas Brown Powell was also born out of wedlock in 1881 but at least I have his birth certificate which confirms they lived at 67 Portland Street, Leeds.
Like all of us here with such a challenge I cannot begin to explain the lengths I have gone to find his DOB over the years.
Annie Powell married a Edward Lyon and she had a third son named Edward Lyon but poor Harry Powell is a mystery.
If someone can help me I will wash their dishes for a year  :) :) :)
Cheers
Steve

Hi Folks,

There is a possibility that my ggg grandfather married a lass in Devon about 1815.

His name was Joseph Mitchel, RN, Clerk, HMS Dexterous from July 1813 to Nov 1815.

I have no idea what her name was, sorry.

Hi Folks,

Re: Joseph Mitchell

When my ggg grandfather married at Hoo St. Werburgh, Kent in 1828 the wedding certificate shows that he is a widower.

He was born in Staines in 1793.

Would it be possible to see when he first married please?

Hi Folks,

I have tried several times to attached a small file container what I hope is the signature of Anne Fraser Bon. It is in the inside cover of The Holy Bible printed 1911.
Perhaps the site is down atm.

Kind regards
Steve
