Carmarthenshire / Walter Thomas
« on: Saturday 27 October 12 11:08 BST (UK)  »
For the last ten years I have been searching on and off for the parents of Walter Thomas, born 1865.
I have found Walter in various census's and his place of birth is given as Llanelly Carmarthenshire.
However he has had various nicknames as well, indicating his was in Pembrey also.
With my research I have continually come up with the name Beynon, particularly Walter Beynon who has a walter thomas as his grandson and another Thomas as his adopted son.
Walter Beynon was married to a Margaret is there anyone researching Beynon family tree that has this connection as well? Or is this just plain coincidence
It makes it harder as no family members have any information over walter's parents/family as he would never talk about them
Thanks in advance  :)

Carmarthenshire / Needs Help! Llanelli area surname Thomas
« on: Tuesday 30 November 10 16:04 GMT (UK)  »
I am wondering if anyone out there can help me. We are trying to find any information over my Great grandfather Walter Thomas. He was born around 1865 we believe in Llanelli, died around 1950. He was married twice his second wife was Mary Jane Oliver b c 1860
He had two children with Mary we think, one was William Edmund, my grandfather ( we think Walter's first wife may have had the surname Edmund) and his brother known as Glynn Thomas however Glynn may have been his middle name.
We know nothing about Walter as he never spoke of his parents the family rumour was that his parents divorced ( which was unspeakable at that time), but was that the reason?  However he also had some connection with Pembrey as my father and the rest of the family called him along the lines of grandfather from Pembrey.
Hoping someone can help out my father would especially like to crack this one!
Cheers!
