I am interested in the PRINGLE Birth at the bottom of the page.

Any help reading the 2 words after "...son of John Pringle," would be appreciated.
As they are separated by commas, I am guessing that they are occupation and place of residence.

Thanks
Dot

I have been trying to find a death for Ann/ie JAMES who was married to a "FW" JAMES
Father = Thomas
Mother = Catherine.

This one is tantalisingly close,
http://austcemindex.com/inscription.php?id=7519957
but I'm reluctant to spend more money on yet another wrong cert.

Is there any way of finding out a bit more about this Annie JAMES, such as age, or Dob, and fist names of husband "JW"?

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Thanks
Dot

New Zealand Completed Requests / ***New BMD Restrictions for NZ***COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 25 January 09 21:28 GMT (UK)  »
We believe that the new “Historical Information” restrictions will also retrospectively apply to any BMD Index info that is/has been published on any website or intranet site.

This means that information posted for lookups must be as follows:
Birth: must be 100+ years ago
Marriage: 80+ years
Death: if the death occurred 50+ years ago OR the person was born 80+ years ago.

Any information that does not comply with these time restrictions will be deleted immediately.
We will also need to delete all information on completed posts that does not comply.

These are radical changes to what we have been used to doing in the past.
Your help in this matter to keep RootsChat “within the law” would be appreciated.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Cemetery Lists *COMPLETED*
« on: Sunday 21 December 08 02:44 GMT (UK)  »
Here are some websites to help with your hunt for burial details.
The different sites give various information from names of Cemeteries and their Provincial Location, and whether or not the records are available on-line.

Bab’s NZ Cemeteries On-line.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~babznz/cemetery.html

Pycroft - "NZ Government Online Genealogy Resources"
Check out the Regional section for Cemeteries.
Also has a number of central/local government online databases, central and local libraries including Archives NZ and a handy area location map for our overseas friends.
http://www.pycroft.co.nz/services/NZ_Government_On-Line_Data.html

Fraser Genealogy has a list of all New Zealand cemeteries that are on-line
http://www.clanfraser.org.nz/genealogy/cemeterylinks.html

KiwiCelts, which has links to Cemeteries and other useful information.
http://www.kiwicelts.co.nz/

These are not the only sites with information, but they will provide you with a good starting place.

More and more councils are putting their records online, so keep checking if the ones you are after aren’t there yet.
