Dublin / New digitized GRO records
« on: Friday 22 March 19 17:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,
With a lot of the GRO records now available online.  Some of the records like this one.
Group Registration ID   N/R
SR District/Reg Area   Dublin South
Deceased Age at Death   0
Returns Year   1877
Returns Quarter   1
Returns Volume No   2
Returns Page No   610
does not have an image to click on.  Does anyone know why some of the records are like this and can you get more information at the GRO if you go in person. Are this type of records part of a register without images or where the images just not digitized for some reason.
Hope this makes sense.  CC

Dublin / Glasnevin Burials
« on: Sunday 10 March 19 13:54 GMT (UK)  »
I was looking at a Rellie in Glasnevin Garden Section.  There are 8 people in this grave.  There maybe one another person that could be a rellie but the others are not.  So my questions are for those who may be interested in replying.  How did they decide who went in the grave and how did they physically get 8 coffins in one grave.  Did they not use coffins (that thought could keep me up tonight).  The span of time is also huge 1843 to 1943.  So what do you think or know.  Regards, CC

Dublin / Is anyone familiar with this first name ?
« on: Sunday 07 May 17 21:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone.

I came across this name Moruse on the 1901 Census for the Hartnet family.

I thought it was very unusual so I googled it but could only find ref. to Morse.

So anyone ever heard of this name.

Dublin / Catholics marrying in the Protestant church.
« on: Wednesday 05 April 17 02:10 BST (UK)  »
How common was it for Catholics to marry in the Protestant church.

Did they have to convert to the Protestant church in order to marry.  How was that done.
