Buckinghamshire / PRINCES RISBOROUGH Marriage records
« on: Wednesday 18 January 06 16:02 GMT (UK)  »
Help needed please !  Does anyone have access to the Princes Risborough marriage records for the years 1830 - 1841.  I'm looking for the marriage of Joseph NOTTINGHAM who married a lady called Ann - probably around 1834.   She died in 1839 and he married again - this time to Sarah WOODBRIDGE - probably between 1839 and 1842.  I found a reference to a marriage for Sarah Woodbridge in Dec Q 1841 - in Wycombe district but the only Joseph who was listed as a possible bridegroom had the surname Abbot.    If, anyone is in a position to check out the parish records for me I would be really, really grateful.
Many thanks

On every census my ancestor has said his place of birth was Hamswell, Suffolk (it was also spelt Amswell on one return) but I can't find it on the map.  Does anyone have any idea where it is please ?
Thanks

I'd really be very grateful if someone could please check out the 1841 Census return for the PILLEY family of Cheltenham and also of Tewksbury.
The family members I am particularly interested in are :-
Charles Miles PILLEY born c 1815 Tewksbury - he was a tailor who worked in Cheltenham in 1851

William Pilley born c 1781 in Tewksbury - his wife was called Martha.  He was also a tailor who later moved to Cheltenham.

Many thanks

If anyone has access to the 1841 census return for St Saviour, Southwark could they please see if there is a John Wilson aged 22 and his wife Elizabeth aged 21 living there. John was probably a jeweller or watchmaker.  They were probably married at this stage as their first son John was born in November 181.  Hi birth was registered in St Saviour, Southwark.  I am interested to know if they had any older children - or if they were living with other relatives.

Many thanks

If anyone has access to an indexed version of the 1851 census I would be really grateful if the family of John and Elizabeth WILSON could be looked up.   John was born in 1819 and would have been aged 32 in 1851.  He was a jeweller and watch dealer in 1861 - so was probably employed as a jeweller or jewellers assistant in 1851.  All later census returns record his place of birth as the City of London (Westminster).   Children in 1851 would have included Mary Anne Wilson (born around 1850),  John Wilson (born 1842 birth registered in Southwark),  Henry Wilson (born around 1843 birth registered in Strand London) and  Eliza born around 1849.
Any information on this family would be really, really helpful
Many thanks
