Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / No Paternal DNA matches

Hi some years ago I undertook dna testing through ancestry and have since put the data on myheritage, livingdna and familydna.
Lots of hits on maternal side, and on my fathers maternal side, but not one for Calvert’s. (Fathers father).
Recently I discovered that my paternal grandfather isn’t who I thought it was, thus accounting for no matches.
I therefore want to take a y-dna test now but don’t know where to start. Has anyone any advice please.

Hello.  I’ve been doing genealogy for 30years now.  99% of my ancestors come from north east England, Yorkshire and devon area of UK. I’ve just received my updated dna estimate/results and surprisingly it suggests that I am as well as English….29% Scottish and 20% Irish. However I have never found one direct ancestor that is either Scottish or Irish.  So the alarm bells are ringing.  Is my years of research been inaccurate or is this a common issue.  Thankyou anyone in advance.

hello, sorry if im on the wrong thread but wonder if someone could assist me, im trying to research the history of the theatre royal in halifax.  I know it became a bingo hall and or cinema around the 1930's until its demise in the 1990's.  I am hoping to find out whom were the managers of the building from around the time of 1960's through to its closure in 1990's.  I believe at this time it was an essoldo bingo hall.  many thanks in anticipation

I have just received a marriage certificate of my gg grandfather in 1914  and on it, it states occupation of groom (heating attendant) His Majesty Office of works.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what MAJESTY OFFICE OF WORKS, would me.  He lived in Brentford at the time.
