Denbighshire Lookup Requests / James Fergusson
« on: Sunday 17 August 14 12:17 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace where James Fergusson went after the 1871 Census for Wales

On Census night he is with his parents John and step mother Martha Fergusson, John a Sawyer has a holding of 6 1/2 acres.

The address is given as Gamid? No 2 in St Asaph, Abergele, Bettws Yn Rhos, Denbighshire.

James is shown as a 14 year old, occupation Engineer [ 7 year apprenticeship I would think ]

He was born in Sandon [ Stone ] Staffordshire  1857.

By the 1881 English census His father has died and his step mother a widow is now back in Staffordshire having dropped one "S" in the surname, with some of his siblings, by now James  would be out of his apprenticeship and aged 24, I have no idea where he served his apprenticeship, or in what form of Engineering.

So far I have been unable to find him any where.

Down / Adam Killen / Killeen 1835 look up please
« on: Thursday 24 May 12 13:41 BST (UK)  »

I am trying to find the birth place of Adam Killen/Killeen born about 1835 in Newrey Down, Died aged 57 on death certificate.
his Father has the same name and they are both as Cabinet makers by trade on his marriage certificate see below.

According to a marriage certificate issued in Liverpool in 1860 he is a Widower but I can find no trace of his first marriage in Liverpool or any record even of his first wife's death.

This all could have happened in or around Newery before he arrived in Liverpool, his children from the 1860 marriage are all Protestant.

There is even the possibility that he may have abandoned his other wife who knows.

can anybody shed any light on Adam Killen / Killeen Cabinet Maker

Thank you.

Killeen is the current family name spelling used.

Europe / Who are Charles Boileau's Parents??
« on: Sunday 20 May 12 12:22 BST (UK)  »

Charles Boileau first appeared in London when he married Sarah Thompson at St Bride Church Fleet Street on 1 October 1836

I am trying to find the family link between London and France as he came from France possibly Paris.

I suspect that his parents may have been Jeane Baptiste Boileau and Marie Adelaide Flamain
They were married in the Baulny district 55 on 26 / 06 / 1810.

Can any body tell me if they had a son Charles in or around 1812.

I have not located his parents in London so Charles may have gone there on his own
His descendants are Protestant generally.

The English and French Family's were in touch up to WW1.

All fingers crossed.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Who was Charles Boileau watch and clockmaker?
« on: Wednesday 16 May 12 13:54 BST (UK)  »
Who was Charles Boileau who married Sarah Thompson at St Bride Church Fleet Street on 1 October 1836?

He was of French origin, but who where his parents and did they come to London with him?

Were did he Serve his apprenticeship and with whom in Clerkenwell or near by maybe or even France, and who was his Master?

He was born 1812/4 in France he was 22 or 24 when married Sarah in St Brides church but no mention of his family members.

His early children are born [4] in Clerkenwell one each in St Lukes and Shoreditch before he moved to Coventry then finally Liverpool.

Finding his master might show his parents or guardians name or who paid for his apprenticeship either in France or England.

This was a highly skilled ocupation at that time and would have needed a large sum to get him trained in the craft.

Any ideas out there? unfortunatly I do not speak or read any French either.

Thanks for any information in advance.
