Kent Lookup Requests / East Barming Kent Death/Burial BAKER Abigail 1836
« on: Monday 15 April 13 16:48 BST (UK)  »
I looking for more information for this death/burial to try to tie it to my tree.
I have the following info from the NBI:

3 August 1836
Baker Abigail 55
East Barming (St Margaret of Antioch)
Kent

What I would like to know is if there is any further info in the actual parish records such as a husband's name (William Baker would be ideal!)

I know a surprising amount about my Abigail's life including the fact that they lived in Barming, all their children were born there and William died/was buried there. Finding her death however is proving a lot harder.

I do believe this is her, but of course belief does not equal proof! ::)

Many thanks

Would someone be able to do a 1841 Scotland Census lookup for me?

I have the following information from the Ancestry website with its "all we're allowed to give you" statement and I would like to know what other information there is that I'm not allowed to see!

Name David Milne
Age 15
Where born England
Civil Parish Old Monkland
County Lanarkshire
Address Coatbridge
Parish Number 652

Other information I have is;

Born 23 June 1826 William Street St Pancras
Parents Alexander Milne (carpenter) and Margaret

Joined 1st B Rifle Brigade 1848 at Coatbridge Scotland due to rioting in the area, gave occupation as a clerk

I know almost everything about him from the day he joined up to the day he died but apart from his birth nothing about his early life or his family

According to family information he was articled to an Architect (possibly an Uncle) and his parents were Scottish so any further information about my Gx2 Grandfather would be gratefully received.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / IOW Newport Carisbrooke COOPER John and William
« on: Sunday 03 June 12 10:34 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if anybody had any information about a Cooper family from the Newport/Carisbrooke area of the Isle of Wight.

I have two brothers from the Isle of Wight living in Bromley Kent.

John Cooper born 1805 approx (from census info)

William Cooper born 1808 approx (from census info)

They are both tailors by trade with a son of William taking over the business of John when his only son dies in his twenties.

Also according to family information (not proven) their father was called George and he was an Army Clothier who set up the original business in Bromley but both the boys consistently use Isle of Wight as their place of birth on Census returns.

I can see from looking at Newport census returns there seems to be quite a few "Coopers who are tailors" (possibly the same family?) so if anybody can shed some light on my strays or even link their family to mine I would be pleased to hear from them.
