Wiltshire / Thomas Pike/Pyke/Peck and Rebecca Lawrence? Marriage
« on: Tuesday 09 May 23 01:53 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I’ve been trying to track down a marriage for Thomas pike/Pyke/peck to a possible Rebecca Lawrence sometime around 1783 as their first son-Aaron-was born in 1784 Bulford, Wiltshire. Thomas was baptized in Milston and there is a Rebecca Lawrence baptized in Bulford. I would assume the marriage would be between the two areas.

Any help pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. I feel like I’ve exhausted the majority of online sites I can think of.

Thanks,
Nich

London and Middlesex / St Lawrence, New Brentford Baptism Joseph LeVierge
« on: Sunday 13 March 22 12:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I have been to conclusively nail down some sort of birth record/parents for a Joseph LeVierge-signed Levirge on his 1811 Tower Hamlets marriage record to Elizabeth Amer.

Recently a number of people started added an unsourced baptism for 14 July 1793 St Lawrence, New Brentford, Middlesex, England but no one I’ve contacted can tell me the source they got it from an I can’t seem to find baptisms for 1973 New Brentford. Family search says the images are held by find my past but I can’t see them there. Free reg doesn’t pull a Joseph at all for a larger time span.

If anyone can point me the right direction to track down the image or index I can sort by hand it would be appreciated.

Thank you

Norfolk / Diss Norfolk birth/marriage records 1580-1672
« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 18:51 BST (UK)  »
Hello!

I’m hoping that someone may be able to point me in the direction of finding birth and marriage records for Diss between the years 1580-1650. There seem to be a number of burials but I’m having trouble with the marriage/birth records.

I am trying to confirm the following collection of unsourced information found across the net.

Mark Downing baptism 11 May 1645
And his marriage to a Margaret Gosling 8 Oct 1627.

John downing baptism 30 Dec 1602. He is also supposed to have married a Margaret around 1640.

William downing marriage to Brigit turner 27 June 1602 and Brigit’s baptism 26 Nov 1581

Any assistance is appreciated

Thank you

London and Middlesex / Edmund Spratbury/Spreadbury and Ann ? m ~1770-1782
« on: Thursday 17 September 20 02:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me track down any information regarding Edmund Spratbury/Spreadbury and his wife Ann.  The marriage is a complete estimate as I can find absolutely nothing on the pair--no deaths, no tax records, no directory records, no birth for Edmund, and no marriage--outside a baptism for Martha Isabella Spratbury 1782 St Martins.  When she married she married under the name Spreadbury. I cannot find any other children for the pair either.

I have also tried searching under Spreadburough as there is an 1800 marriage for an Ann Spreadbury--according to the minister--who signed her name Spreadburough.  While the groom is listed as a widower, Ann does not have any cable so I can't say 100% that she is my ann.

Any help in the right direction would be lovely.
Thank you

Gloucestershire / Thomas Holder and Jane Marriage
« on: Wednesday 03 June 20 14:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I have a baptism for a James Holder Baptized 1762 st. Nicholas, Gloucester to a Thomas and Jane. I’m trying to find Thomas and janes marriage.

Thomas’ will lists James and a daughter Sarah to whom he basically leaves everything but 20 pounds to (goes to James).  I have yet to find Sarah’s baptism 100% (assuming Jane is her mum too) but do know she married in 1777 hartpury.

The only Thomas and Jane Marriage my cousin and I currently can find is from 1748 St. John the Baptist Gloucester. I’m not convinced that this is the correct marriage.

Any direction on where to go would be appreciated
TIA

London and Middlesex / Lucy Holliday abt 1757 westminster?
« on: Wednesday 27 May 20 19:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm trying to track a baptism for a Lucy Holliday who is estimated to be born about 1757. I've searched under every name variation (first/last) that I can think of and the only baptism that I see that comes close within a 20 year period is a Luce Holliday baptized 1751 in Kington St Michael, Wiltshire, England.

That being said, Lucy was married in Westminster, and there are a number of people who have her baptized there to a John and Mary 1757 --with no source.  I see a marriage for a John Holliday and Mary Armson in 1749 or a John Holyday to a Mary Good in 1748 both married in Westminster, but again I don't see a Lucy as a possible child.

There are a number of Holliday men (William, George, Joseph, John etc) who married in Westminster that I see between 1747-1757, but again I can't seem to find the elusive Lucy.

Any help in how to best track her down would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Gloucestershire / John Beard and Mary UNKNOWN Marriage abt 1740s
« on: Wednesday 27 May 20 18:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me locate a marriage for a John Beard to a Mary.  They had a son Thomas who was baptized in Saul 1748.  I'm having trouble tracking any siblings of Thomas in the area.

I see a john and mary in Frocester in 1722, but they look like they were still having children in Frocester at least until 1742.  then i don't see another marriage until a john and mary in 1750 getting married in bristol.

Any help being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

« on: Monday 11 May 20 14:24 BST (UK)  »
Hello!

I’m trying to track down a marriage for a William Ryder and a Lucy in Westminster around 1778. A large number of people have a William Ryder marrying a Lucy Holliday 5 January 1778 Westminster.

I cannot for the life of me find a register or transcript with this marriage or one similar. I’m hoping someone can assist and point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Essex / Elizabeth Siarss ~1742
« on: Sunday 27 October 19 20:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

Trying to track down a baptism for Elizabeth Siarss who was married to Robert Williams in Wanstead, Essex 26 Sep 1763. They were married by banns and it says they are both of Wanstead. She married Richard Arnold in 1771.  Ive looked for baptism from 1730-1750.

I can find no baptisms in the 1700s for any Siarss (and only 1 in mid 1800s Hampshire).  I cannot find any other Siarss married in the area, but found one Siars in Norfolk and one in Portsmouth.  I can find no deaths for any Siarss.

I've tried searching for spelling variations of Siar, Siars, Sires and every search engine suggests Sears, but nothing is really close by that makes me confident. The only name really common is Sears.

Any advice on how to track down my Elizabeths roots is appreciated.

thanks,
Nich
