Berwickshire / Ninion Steele Broomfield
« on: Monday 24 September 12 01:50 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on Ninion Steele Broomfield or the name Ninion. He has recently been added to my family tree. I would like to know if anyone has any information on him or where the "Ninion" may have come from as this is not any of the family names for several generations. It may have come from his mother, name unknown. Such an unusual name for a family of Thomases, George's and David's.
Thank you, Mona

Hi, Mona here from Kansas. I recently traveled to Lauder, Scotland to research my family tree. I would love any information on the Broomfield family. They were factors of Thirlestane Castle for over 60 years. Also, how does Broomfields in Greenlaw connect to Lauder. I would like to say thank you in advance.

Scotland / Broomfield Family

I am traveling to Scotland in August and want to connect with the Broomfield family history. My Broomfields are from the Lauder area. David Broomfield born 1780 was factor of Thirlestane Castle. David is my 4x grandfather. Son was Thomas Broomfield, born 1822. His son, Thomas Logan Broomfield, born 1861. He joined the service under the name Thomas Moss. His sister was Elizabeth and she lived in Lauder. I have part of the sale bill from her castle. I would love to have any info on cemeteries and other history. Thank you
