London and Middlesex / Frederick Ainsworth born abt May 1842 Hammersmith
« on: Friday 22 November 19 20:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone, I would appreciate help with tracing parents of the above ancestor.
Frederick Ainsworth was born about may 1842 in Hammersmith we believe.  He first appears on the 1861 census aged about 19 and is stated as being a visitor.  We have been unable to trace any records for his parents who we believe to be Charles Ainsworth and Elizabeth Radley. On his marriage certificate in 1866 Frederick states his father to be Charles and is deceased.  In the absence of records from census, marriage or death we wonder if they could have been in the workhouse, possibly the Kensington poor law union but I do not know how to check this.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks

« on: Saturday 13 October 18 19:14 BST (UK)  »
sorry if this isn't appropriate for this section but would be grateful for any signposts

I have found that our relatives arrived in Quebec on 20/5/1929 on SS Metagama.  It says the purpose was land settlement in Alberta.  However, the family arrived back in Liverpool again on 17/11/1929 so obviously things didn't work out.

the family are
William Pittham 29
Mary Pittham 29
William Pittham 5
Elizabeth Pittham 3
Kathleen Pittham 3 months

Is there any way I can find out more please?  They lived in Wexford, Ireland

many thanks

Cork / Filedarrig Birth Record for Charles Brady about 1821
« on: Saturday 21 October 17 21:00 BST (UK)  »
hello again, hope you can help with this one.  Where can I try for the birth of Charles Brady about 1821 in Filedarrig.  Father's name possibly james, no idea about mother.  I have looked on family search etc.   I am estimating year of birth from his death certificate.

He died in December 1891 age being given as 70.  I do wonder if that is correct though as his wife Ann Hampston was born in 1841, although she could have married an older man of course.

Thank you all for your time and hopefully some ideas
Regards

Cork / Castletown Cork, marriage Charles Brady to Anne Hampston approx 1855
« on: Tuesday 23 February 16 19:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hello again, I would be grateful for any help in tracking down the following records please.

I am looking for the marriage of Charles Brady to Anne Hampston in approx. 1855.  Their first child, I believe, was born in 1857 in Castletown.

I am also looking for the baptism of Charles Brady.  I believe he was born around 1821, probably in Castletown.

Nothing is showing up on Family Search, Find my Past Ireland or the geneology Ireland site.  Brady is sometimes spelt Bready.

Many thanks for any help you can give

Hello, running out of ideas and would be grateful for any help in tracing burial or cremation for my husband's grand father
William Pittham (born may 1900 wexford, Ireland) died in St Josephs Hospice, Hackney on 4/1/66.  The hospice have no record of what happened to his remains.  I have contacted Hackney council who gave me a list of cemeteries to contact but no luck.  The hospice have given William's address at the time of his admission as Old Street, London EC1.  This was apparently a salvation army hostel but the salvation army have no information.  I would really appreciate any suggestions as William has a living son who wants to pay his last respects to his father, they were separated when he was young.  Many thanks for your time.
