Tipperary / Moore family from Syracuse, NY Brick wall

Hello everyone,
I have been trying to research my father’s family and have hit a dead end. I have a headstone that says my Great Great Grandfather Martin Moore was born in Templemore, Tipperary Ireland. His Obit says has him as J Martin Moore. The 1920 Fed. Census has him naturalizing in 1880. I checked with the local vital records and the only Moore that naturalized in 1880 is James Moore. I assume that he just preferred to be called Martin. When I got his death certificate it said his parent’s names were Martin Moore and Margaret Opil…? I can’t make out the handwriting because it trails off. He was born in 1836 and died in Syracuse NY, April 1, 1921. Any help finding his line in Ireland would be greatly appreciated. I am getting so frustrated.
