Shetland / SANDISON look up

Hi there
firstly i would like to let u know that i am a newbeee and have been trying to trace our family tree. I have located SANDSION Family in Old MACHAR Aberdeen. My husbands great grandad Who was Alexander Sandison born 1857 to father James Sandison and Margt LAING. The inormation i am now looking for is the birth details of James as all i have to go on is he was born 1831 Shetlands?
? i would like to know more details as in Orckney or Shetland also parents details as in birth/marriage/death. Would be very grateful of any info or pointers in the right direction.
