Mayo / Michael Hunt - Carracastle

I am researching the above man who was killed in the Great War.
This is what I know about him.
Born about 1875-1880 in Carracastle, the son of Thady and Mary Hunt of Doocastle, Mayo.
Enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery at Sheffield before the war.
Died of wounds 30.10.1914 aged 34 or 39 in Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow and is buried in Glasgow. (Commonwealth War Graves say 39 years old and the hospital death record says 34) Definitely the same man though.
Doesn't appear to have married?
I am trying to link him to a memorial in Bebington, (was Cheshire, now Merseyside) I would like to know if anyone can add anything else about him. In particular his occupation, and did he work in England before joining the army?
I also know that he is named on a war memorial in Mayo (under the Carracastle names)
This is a last throw of the dice for me, so any expert Irish help would be very greatly appreciated!
