I have a transcript (from FindMyPast) for the burial of Francis Dansey, Grenadier Guards, who died in the Infantry Hospital at New Windsor in 1825, aged 20 (buried at St. John the Baptist on 26 Jan).

It is possible this is the same Francis who was baptised at Burrough on the Hill, Leicestershire on 21 Jul 1805 (parents Francis Danzey & Deborah née Barnett).

However, having searched TNA, Findmypast and Ancestry, I am unable to find any further military (or other) records for him.  Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

I have the birth dates for the following...

Mary COX b.14 May 1710
Hannah COX b.6 Jul 1715
John COX b.24 Feb 1718/19/20 (year recorded was 1719 but falls within double dating period)

It is known the family lived in or around Nottingham/Beeston.

I have found a baptism record for a Hannah COX (bpt.4 Aug 1715) from the High Pavement Presbyterian Chapel in Nottingham but am unable to find anything for the other two siblings.  I need to tie all three to the same parents to verify the Hannah baptism is correct.

It is almost certain the family were non-conformists as the birth dates were hand-written in an old book published in 1629 written by Arthur Hildersham, a well known puritan and non-conformist.

Is anyone able to do a lookup for me to try and find matching baptisms for all three?

thanks
Dave

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / William SMITH Plumtree-Beeston-East Leake
« on: Monday 27 January 14 13:38 GMT (UK)  »
A very old book has just surfaced (published c.1629) which contains handwritten birth-dates for my ancestors (and their siblings) dating back to 1710.  The key family I am interested in is...

William SMITH (b.???) = Hannah Cox (b.1715) m.10 Feb 1738/39 at Beeston (St. John the Baptist)

Phillimore's marriage transcript shows William's parish as Plumtree.

Also, according to WD Fletcher in his publication - “Leicestershire Pedigrees and Royal Descents”, published 1887 - there is a headstone in East Leeke's baptist cemetery with the inscription "“In Loving Memory of WILLIAM SMITH …. of Plumtree Beeston & East Leake …. who after 15 years total blindness …. died 1795 age 95 & lies buried here with HANNAH his wife.”

However, the only suitable baptism I can find for William Smith (using online sources) is in 1719 at Beeston, which conflicts with the inscription which suggests he was born in Plumtree c.1699.

Is anyone able to do a lookup for William's baptism in Plumtree?
Also, is anyone in a position to photograph the headstone at East Leeke for me.

thanks in advance
Dave
