Lancashire / William Brown 1879-1881?
« on: Wednesday 25 January 17 14:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I'm trying to find info regarding a William Brown b.1879-1881. His father was a Thomas Brown (occupation - Journeyman Plasterer) at the time of his marriage to Mary Linton in 1908 at the Register Office, district of West Derby, county of Liverpool. William (occupation - butcher) and his wife Mary were lodging at 1 Steble St, Toxteth Park with their sons William age 3 and Charles Henry age 1 in 1911 (census confirms this). My problem is trying to find the family later on, 1939 register shows nothing. So I am assuming the parents may have passed. William age 3 is my line of enquiry whom I have got to present day but his parents and brother, I have come to a dead end. I was wondering if anyone could advise as where to go from here and also if someone could be ever so kind to look up a brith entry for the above William
many thanks

Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / Alder Family of Montgomery, Powys
« on: Wednesday 23 July 14 10:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to look up burials for any Alder(s) family members for Montgomery village please. I have a William Alder who possibly died around 1863 age about 64. He came down from Alnwick, Northumberland to live in Montgomery.
1861 census (RG9/4253 pg2) showed he was living at Lymore Cottage with his son Edward and wife Martha, their child  Mary and William's niece Margaret, even though she has been stated as visitor. Previous census comfirms her a niece. Margaret the niece married a George Davies where she died 1894 and is buried at St. Nicholas graveyard. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks
Sharon

Northumberland Lookup Requests / William Alder
« on: Tuesday 22 July 14 16:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi , I was wondering if someone could be kind enough to do a look-up for a birth entry and a marriage entry for a William Alder(maybe also a death entry for  John Alder, brother of William, I believe John died around the time his daughter Margaret was born about 1841ish as she is living with the said William)
1841 census age 50 living at Burrodon, Northumberland HO107/828/12 pg 11
1851 census age 57 living at Haughmound Cottage, Uffington, Shropshire HO1071991, pg 258
1861 census age 64 living at Lymore Cottage, Montgomery, Montgomeryshire, Wales RG9/4253 pg 2
He stated in 1851 he came from Burrodon, Northumberland. I have no idea where this place is.
My connection to this family being Margaret Alder born 1841ish who moved with her uncle William Alder to Montgomery in Wales where she married a George Davies. She gave her father as John Alder on the marriage certificate.
What is sooo unusual about this family is the fact that a genetic mutation has passed through the Alder generations leaving several members of the family blind, especially the male side to present day (including my father). I would also be very interested to know if anyone has connections with the above family, even due to the sensitive issue of the genetic mutation, maybe we could exchange info and possibly help each another. Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / Charlotte Davies
« on: Wednesday 26 June 13 19:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm looking for possible information of the above person, she was an inmate at Forden Workhouse in 1901 and 1911(born 1879 Montgomery) having a disability of some sort (imbecile). I have looked up on Freebmd and various other sites but unable to locate a death entry. Could she have died at the workhouse and entry to her death not registered maybe! Her parents were George and Margaret Davies (nee Alder) of the village Montgomery. Unfortunately, I live too far away to visit the Powys record office and would be ever so grateful if a kind person in their passing through the archives could do a look-up for me. Many thanks for your help :D
