I wonder if someone could kindly look for DILYS STRANGE (born 1919) on the 1939 Register (Ancestry). Not sure where Dilys would be living in 1939 but she married in Caerleon in 1942. Her full date of birth, her address & who she was living with in 1939 would be of great help to me in my research. Many thanks in advance, any information is very much appreciated.  Margaret.

Devon Lookup Requests / Inquest details from Western Times (Tiverton area)
« on: Tuesday 10 May 22 18:17 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if some kind person with access to the Western Times (Tiverton area) around 1827 could look up an inquest for me? Elizabeth Axhorn was the 1st wife of Wm Axhorn (1782 - 1837) I assume her death might be prior to 1827 which is when he married Faith Rowe. The Western Times of 2/9/1837 gave the result of the inquest on Wm Axhorn himself: He was killed by a lightning strike & the paper said it had covered inquests on both his wives. Faith died in January 1837 when she dropped dead in a shop....so of course I am now curious about what happened to Elizabeth & the circumstances of her death. I live in the Midlands so there is no chance of me coming to Devon to do the research for myself, I really would appreciate any help to find what happened to Elizabeth Axhorn.
Many thanks  in advance.   Margaret Evans.

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Grenville/Granville Taylor born 1930's in Neath
« on: Monday 24 August 20 18:07 BST (UK)  »
Hello. I am helping a 3rd party to find the following chap (if possible). His name could be Grenville "Guy" Taylor born mid 1930's in Neath. He did his National Service in the York area of Yorkshire (no idea of which Regiment) He may have married in Neath in the 1950's. I have found a marriage in 1957 similar name but as no 2nd name is mentioned I cannot be certain this is the chap I am after. Any help in pinpointing where I might continue to search would be much appreciated.
  Many Thanks.

Northamptonshire / Request for help with a 1921 marriage please...
« on: Sunday 26 August 18 18:14 BST (UK)  »
Hello folks. I am attempting to find the following couple, FRANK GLEDHILL & LIILIAN SPENCER. There is a marriage: June Qtr 1921 Wellingboro 3b 289 with names that match & this would fit in with the birth of their son in 1924. To trace them back further I really need to find their fathers names on the marriage certificate if this is possible. I am having difficulty finding Northants records on line that matches the date of this marriage. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Margaret.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Trade directories for Bromsgrove Worcs ????
« on: Sunday 30 March 14 14:33 BST (UK)  »
Hello there,
I wonder if anyone has access to trade directories for  the Bromsgrove area? I am looking for a ROBERT BROUGH, TAILOR & DRAPER:
On the 1841 census Web Heath, Bromsgrove:
ROBERT BROUGH, 30, "Taylor" not born in County  (He was born in Birmingham)
Elizabeth Brough, 30, born in County                                                                                           William Brough, 60, not born in County       NOTE: ages are not a match for their actual birth year, but that is usually the case with the 1841 census.

NOTE: Robert had a shop in Birmingham until 1839 according to Birmingham directories.

Any help with finding info on Robert Brough will be very appreciated.   Thank You.

Margaret.

Hello,
I wonder if there is anyone who lives/lived in Tonyrefail who has any memories of a MISS MARY HANNAH MORGAN (1895 - 1976) I believe she was a head mistress at a school there...she may also have been a member of the Women's Institute. I am helping my daughter in law with her family history & Mary Hannah was her great aunt.

Many thanks,  Margaret.
