Denbighshire / Abergele farm
« on: Saturday 27 June 20 20:48 BST (UK)  »
Long long shot, i am trying to locate the farm my mother was evacuated to from Liverpool after they were bombed out in the blitz of 1941, are there any records? Where there designated hosts? and if so one would have thought they would have to have been registered?  The only information i have is that the farmer had a hook for a hand :(    My mum and her brother stayed for over a year. TIA

Ireland / Help with passenger lists
« on: Thursday 14 April 16 11:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi can anyone help in finding when my 2 g granma left Ireland for Liverpool.  Rosanna Reilly nee Field must have left between the dates 1862 ( the birth of her 3rd child) and her appearance  in the 1871 census in Liverpool. She had 3 children Mary Josephine,  Anne and Rosanna. I dont know if she travelled with her parents as well ( Thomas and Ann Field) or if they were already in in Liverpool
Rosannas  husband John Reilly was admitted to the Hospital for Incurables in Dublin around 1867 until his death in 1870.
She remarried in 1872 in Liverpool
Thanks, Chris

Dublin / John Reilly - musical instrument maker
« on: Thursday 24 March 16 20:09 GMT (UK)  »
Any help would be appreciated in finding out what happened to John the 1st husband of my gg grandmother, I havent got Johns Birth, the first I know about him is from the list of jurors for Dublin in 1843 living at 17 Fleet St a musical instrument maker, he is still there in 1862 (Dublin Street Directory).
In 1847 he is awarded a medal by the Royal Dublin Society for his clarinet and flute exhibits, one of which is still in the Bates collection in Oxford University. There is also a brief history of him in the Dublin Music Trade

I have his marriage cert to my gg grandmother Rosanna Field in 1856 and they go on to have 3 children
Mary 1858
Anne 1860
Rosanna 1862

Somewhere  between 1862 and 1871 Rosanna moves back to Liverpool with the children and in 1872 marries my 2nd great grandad.
I cannot seem to further mention of John Reilly after the birth of their last child and cannot find a death either, any help would be welcomed
Thanks, Chris.

Sligo / Michael Henry
« on: Friday 16 October 15 15:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi, i would appreciate any help if possible, im stiil trying to find my gg grandad;
Michael Henry b 1844 approx
Married 1872 in Liverpool to Rosanna Field/Oreilly
Father Michael Henry- farmer
Mother Bridgit ?
 The above information has been taken from his marriage cert, and basically its all i have of him, he is nowhere to found on the ,81,91 censuses in Liverpool although Rosanna is still listed as married,  until the 1901 census when she is now  a widow

The only other Michael i can find is on the 1871 census;
Michael Henry b 1845
born Sligo
Lodger living in Farnworth (Bolton)
Painters labourer ( the tenuous link is Rosannas brother was a painter}

Is there any way i could find out if this is my Michael in Sligo?
Or at least discount him and start looking elsewhere.

Thanks for any help, and for taking the time to read this (long) post,
Cheers Chris
