London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / St Pancras 1825 Marriage - Details ??
« on: Sunday 27 January 08 14:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hello and g'day from OZ,
I'm just wanting to find out what details there might be if I got a copy of the marriage register transcription for St Pancras 1825.

Does anyone know what it might have as info on it - will it state the ages of the bride and groom, and possibly where they were born or living at the time of marriage?   ??? ???

I've looked up the IGI and have recorded all relevant batch nos etc.  I have never got anything this early before (only  done 1837 onwards up to this point)....

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks nita

Cumberland Completed Lookups / ARMSTRONG Elisabeth / Elizabeth 1841 Census lookup please
« on: Thursday 21 December 06 07:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi and Merry Christmas to all
I'm looking for an Elisabeth / Elizabeth Armstrong, born in Abbey Holme/Holme Cultram in abt 1831.  I have her in the 1851 census as a servant in another household, but  was hoping to find her in the 1841 census where hopefully she is living with her parents.   Her parents are William and Ann Armstrong and they would hopefully still be living at Abbey Holme, or otherwise Wigton.
Hoping someone can help out.
Thanks in advance of your help.

The Common Room / Pre-civil registration information
« on: Wednesday 20 December 06 23:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi and Merry Christmas to you all
I'm having trouble finding my 3xG Grandmother.  I have my 2xG Grandmother's information that she was born in Cumberland in about 1831.  Her father's details I have, but not her mother's (it only gives her christian name in the IGI).

Because  you can't get certificates for this period of time from GRO, what's the procedure - can I get baptism registers from the parish involved or something, so as to get her mother's maiden name?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kent Lookup Requests / FRITH George - census lookup 1841
« on: Thursday 14 December 06 14:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
I'm trying to track down my GG GF  George Frith, I have a couple of lots of conflicting information.  He was born around 1840, one source says his parents are James & Lucy;  another source says his parents names are Joseph and Ann, and that he was born in Charlton.
If anyone can look up the census and give me some clarification, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
nita

The Common Room / English Death Certificates
« on: Wednesday 22 November 06 23:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
I recently got a death certificate from the UK (I'm Aussie) for my GGM, who died in 1917.    I was a bit disappointed to find that it only had how old she was, where she died, and who reported the death (my GGF).   It had the county in which she died, and because she died in hospital, the hospital name, but no other details like parents or even what county she was born in.
Can anyone tell me whether later certificates give more details ?
Also, to get parents names and info on birth (year & place), would it be more advisable for me to get marriage certificate?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks niftynita

Yorkshire (West Riding) / 1841 / 1851 Census Lookup Dewsbury
« on: Thursday 09 November 06 13:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
Could some kind person look up for me the 1841 census Dewsbury for a Joseph Street, born c. 1780, Yorkshire;  and his wife Sarah (birthdate unknown) .    I think Joseph died  c. 1848, but don't know about Sarah, so if she's in the 1841, could you also check in 1851?
Many thanks

Cumberland Lookup Requests / 1871 Census Lookup - PEARSON Wigton
« on: Tuesday 03 October 06 17:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for the following person, and her family.   If the family could be looked up in the 1871 census, it would be very very much appreciated ......

Pearson, Elizabeth, b.  Holme Abbey, b. about 1830-31.

I have her in the 1861 census age about 30, head, widowed, with children:   Mary Ann  6, Jane 5, Tom 3, and William 2.  I know William died in 1864, so he won't be in 1871 census.   They were living in Wigton 1861 = RG9 / 3925 (if that's useful or not I don't know).

I am really interested in Jane also.    I have found Elizabeth in the 1881 census age 50, still living at Wigton, though no children with her then.

Many thanks in advance of your help.

Regards Anita  :) :)

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Wigton BTs 1813-1837
« on: Thursday 04 May 06 17:41 BST (UK)  »
Is there anywhere online that I can search for Wigton BTs in particular births and marriages?
The only ones I've found only go up to 1812, and I require later info.
I am particularly interested in Thomas Pearson, born c. 1793, who married c. 1814-15 to Mary ??.  and then had approx 10 children from 1815-1838.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers niftynita
