Hi everybody,

this photo origins from an old newspaper clipping. The photo isn't that bad, but I'd appreciate it very much if, it could be improved a little so it can be printed and framed.

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Kind Regards

Hi everybody,

this photo is one of the very few I have of my great -grandfather Carl who was born in 1880. I  got this picture from a relative about 10 years ago. It's not the original but was simply printed with a home office printer. The result was that the picture came out pretty grainy. Unfortunately I can't access the original photo any longer, so I'd like to ask you nice guys if a little improvement was possible.

Thanks in advance!

I've just received a digital photo of a photo that shows my great-great grandmother together with her mother.
It's in pretty bad shape, but as this is the only photo I have of her, is there any chance to improve the photo a little?

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

Kind Regards,
Florian

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / grgr-grandparents - one out of two?
« on: Friday 18 October 13 08:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi everybody,

here I have two separate pictures of my great-great grandparents. Unfortunatey, I do not have access to the originals and the copies I have are photos from the pictures.

I am not quite sure, if the pictures are not actually drawings, because I have a photo (in worse quality) where they look exactly the same. In the original photo, they were photographed together.

Could the separte pics maybe be cleaned up a little and brought together in one photo again?

Thank you all,

Florian

Hi there,

still going through old family photographs, I found this photo of my great-great grandparents.

GG-grandma is fading away and unfortunately gg-grandpa had moved his head while being photographed.

Apart from a little restoration improvement, I'd love it, if possible, if they could be brought standing together more close to eachother. Maybe that way, that she would hide his arm that is linked to the bottle.  ;D The background is not important, if you feel like to change/ remove it, please to do so. I'd even prefer it.
This is the only old picture I have from my Dad's side, so it would mean a lot to me.

A thousand thanks in advance for all your kind help!

United States of America / F.H. Staab - from Bavaria to the U.S.
« on: Thursday 10 October 13 18:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

for years I have been trying to find any hint of my great-great grandfathers immigration the United States and/ where he lived in America.

He was born Franz Heinrich Staab, in Heigenbruecken, Germany on Aug. 4th, 1864.

When his father died, the family immigrated to the States. This must have been around 1875. While his siblings stayed there, he returned home for unknown reasons. In 1887 he married is wife in Germany. So he had returned home prior to 1887.

Though it was well known in the family that he had been in the states, it's remains a total mystery that I could nowhere find any hint of him, not even on the ship passengers list from that time.
Of course he might have changed his name - some family story says it was "Henry".

If anybody came across him in his family tree, please let me know! His brothers and sister who stayed in the U.S. very likely have descendants.

Any help or hint would be appreciated!  :D

Best wishes,
Florian

Hi there, all you talented restorers!

You did such a trerrific job with the previous pic I had posted, so that I come up with another one, hoping you might help.

The picture shows my great-great grandfather with his second wife and children. Now, the strange thing is, that he had already died when the family photo was taken. The used an existing photo of him and put it in the picture.

As a 85th birthday present, I'd love to present my grandmother a framed picture of her grandfather (my great-great grandfather). Do you think it would be possible to crop him out, restore the part of his suit, which is hidden by the head of his wife and make him look a little cleaner?

Even though, I'm not into restoring, I can imagine it will be quite a task - but I'd highly appreciate any help.  :D

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi everyone,

I've been reading in the forum for quite some time - and I'm absolutely amazed by your skills, talent and abilites of restoring old photographs.

I do have a photo of my great-great-grandfather here. He died very young in 1891 when his daughter, my great-grandmother was only 6 months old.

A great-aunt had kept this photo and I luckily scanned it some years ago. Unfortunately, the original got lost. So this scan is all I have.

I'd highly appreciate any improvement that could be done and be very grateful for your all your efforts.

Kind Regards from Germany,

Florian
