« on: Wednesday 20 November 13 12:27 GMT (UK)  »
I have a new pc with Windows 8.  My Epson printer (Stylus Photo R320) was working perfectly until one of the ink cartridges ran out.  On my old pc I got a warning message about ink levels but no longer get this and I have no idea which cartridge needs replacing.  Help please.

Does anyone please have any suggestions?

« on: Sunday 03 February 13 13:08 GMT (UK)  »
I've been using Photoshop 6 for years with no problems but now find I cannot save my images.  I get the message that this is because the file is locked and to use the "Properties" command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.

I can't find this at all.  :'(  Help please.

Technical Help / My cursor won't move
« on: Thursday 22 November 12 16:07 GMT (UK)  »
I have an AcerAspire One notebook running Windows 7 starter.  I cannot get the cursor to move at all either using the pad or my wireless mouse.

I've tried removing the battery and replacing it, restoring to a previous date, removing and replacing the mouse and tried the control panel whilst running in safe mode.  All to no avail.

I cannot find anything on the control panel to help.

Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Technical Help / Problem with Internet Explorer
« on: Sunday 05 February 12 14:17 GMT (UK)  »
I've used this for years with Google as my home page but for no apparent reason, when I now click on IE I get a window popping up with a download warning and asking if I want to save the file.

The name of the file is getpagemodel, file type unknown, from www.google.com.

If I click on Save and then try to open it I'm presented with a wide choice of programmes but all I get is a line of giberish.

I don't have a problem accessing Firefox.

Technical Help / Epson printer - sudden problem. Completed, thank you.
« on: Tuesday 13 December 11 10:01 GMT (UK)  »
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R320 and have been using the same compatible cartridges for years but the printer has suddenly decided it doesn't like them.  Is there anything I can do other than give in and buy Epson cartridges?

I came across this snippet whilst searching the parish registers of Brotherton in Yorkshire.  Does anybody know what the Bishop's instructions regarding keeping the baptismal register might have been?

Huntingdonshire / WILABER/WILABOR/WILABAR/WILDBORE/WILBER/WILDBER

Can anyone help me to track down a marriage of a John WILEBER to a lady named Sarah?  I believe John would have been a widower.  His first marriage was to Mary ALLEN in Farcet on 29 October 1810 (From IGI) and another researcher told me a while back that Mary died in 1827.  They had five daughters to my knowledge.  However, I have found a John and Sarah in the censuses in Farcet but none of these daughters are with them so I cannot be sure I have the right John.  The surname changes with practically every record I find of this family  ::)

Any help would be really appreciated.

The Common Room / Going round in circles. Completed, thank you.
« on: Friday 15 July 11 19:15 BST (UK)  »
I have a Mary Linsley marrying a James Denton on 13 Oct. 1864.  I also have her marrying a William Lightholder on 24 Aug 1871.  At this marriage she is described as a widow but gives her name as Mary Carr.  Both marriage entries give her father's details as Benjamin Linsley, weaver.

I have found Mary and James Denton on the 1871 census which was taken on 2nd April.  She was aged 25 which is a couple of years out.  I cannot find a death for James, nor can I find a marriage for Mary Denton to anyone called Carr.   There are several Mary Carrs on the 1881 census which might be her but the ages are wrong.

Is it feasible that Mary was widowed twice in one year and to find yet another husband between April and August?
