« on: Tuesday 19 May 15 13:10 BST (UK)  »
:'(Warning We had a dongle from 3G which stopped working in January.OH wrote telling them and saying we wished to cancel the service as we were getting no signal. Heard nothing so after two and a half  months OH stopped the standing order. We then got phone calls demanding money and in spite of telling them we had cancelled
we are still getting  2/3 -  daily phone calls demanding  money. Sent letters recorded delivery.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / census of people away from home
« on: Sunday 07 December 14 11:00 GMT (UK)  »
Just read about advice given to people filling in census sheets and they are requested to note down where people who normally live in the house are ie fishing, on holiday etc.  What happened to this information?

Technical Help / screen going into the negative
« on: Friday 08 November 13 23:19 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone had their screen go black with the writing in white, just like a negative. This happened to me on my tablet last month. It just suddenly went. I tried everything but nothing worked, went for professional help but they were as puzzled so I was advised to clear everything off and re start up my tablet again from scratch. I fortunately had a card to back up all my notes but of course lost everything else including my email address. Would be greatful for any advice should this happen again.

Durham Lookup Requests / Leadsdale did he exist
« on: Wednesday 06 November 13 16:30 GMT (UK)  »
My OH's Gt, grandmother married a William Leadsdale., He is a mystery, we found two army records for him.  One stated he was born in 1834, another born 1843 and from Shiels.  I guessed that this was shields. He joined two different foot regiments which he deserted from and returned to before being discharged. He married his first wife in Glasgow and had a son. They moved to Holyhead then she and child disappear, no other record of them. He marriesan Ellen Williams, has one daughter, and another who could be his, but do not think so as he is not named on her birth cert. This child Rosie is My OH's grandmother. He stated his father was a shoe maker; but apart from two other Leadsdales who only appear once in a census I can find no more leadsdales . I have tried looking at similar names but with so little information to go on it really is a needle in a haystack. SO has anybody lost a William with a similar name to Leadsdale, and just possibly from a shoe making family.

Does anyone have an Ann Morter in their family please?    Y gt grandfather was born in 1836 and his mother was called Ann. His father was a James Wheatley. Their son was William Morter Wheatley. I do not think that they were married so have guessed that Ann was a Morter. Any help would be welcome..G
