Hi, I'm quite new here, so after reading the guidelines, hope my post conforms.
I'd like help looking up Leah Grossman on the 1911 census. She was aged 33 and living in Stoke Newington.
The purpose is to hopefully find both address and names of any other members of the household.
My family moved from Poland to Aberdeen and maybe on to London. This could really help add vital evidence and a new trail.
Many thanks, Andy :)

Hi, I'm quite new here, and after reading forum guidelines, hope my request conforms.
I'm requesting help looking up Daniel Rosenthall on the 1901 census.
He was aged 41, in the sub-district of St. Martin and Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Asaph.
The purpose of the request is for the address if given and to find whether any other family members are with him in the household.
Many thanks, Andy :)

Europe / Rosenthal family from Russia/Poland to Aberdeen 1860s
« on: Tuesday 19 November 13 15:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm very new here and have had some fabulous help already.
My Rosenberg and related Bromberg family came to Aberdeen between 1861 and '68.
Sources I have indicate their origins as varied as Russia, Poland and Warsaw.
I am aware of boundary/border changes etc in this era.
I would like to further research into my G G Grandfather Daniel Rosenthal, who also arrived between 1861 and '68. If anybody can give me a prod...poke in the right direction as to where to go next, I'd be very grateful.
I have been down the avenues of naturalisation/denization records to no avail, but I think I'm right in saying a five year stay automatically entitled a claim to citizenship after 1870.
Has anyone else been along a similar route with success?
Thanks in advance, Andy.

Aberdeenshire / Immigration from Eastern Europe 1850's / 60's
« on: Sunday 17 November 13 11:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hello.
Further to my message below regarding my Rosenthal family, I was wondering about the prevalence of migration to Aberdeen from Eastern Europe in the mid to late 19th century.
My Rosenthal and related Bromberg family arrived sometime between 1861 and 1868 from Poland / Russia.
Was there a trade route?....fisheries perhaps?
Does anyone else here have family members who followed a similar path?
It seems an otherwise unusual place to pick as a destination; and with more than one family member emigrating also appears to be far from chance.
Any help / input would be gratefully received, thanks  :)

Aberdeenshire / Daniel Rosenthal b.1845
« on: Thursday 14 November 13 16:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I'm very new here and hoping for any help regarding both my 3x G Grandad Daniel Rosenthal.

Daniel arrived in Aberdeen from Poland/Russia after 1861, marrying his Irish bride Sarah Murphy in 1868 at the Chapel Of St Mary Of The Assumption, Huntly Street, Oldmacher.
He is recorded as being both a Picture Dealer and Glazier, moving between Aberdeen and Glasgow, maybe also Ireland.
He had Aberdeen residences in Windy Wind (now Spring Garden), East North Street, Trongate in Glasgow and last known address Chapel Street, Turriff.
I have a lot of snippits about Daniel through census returns, newspaper stories and BMD registers and certificates, but after the 1891 census where he is recorded as a pedlar, the trail goes cold and he is nowhere to be found, with no record of death at Scotland's People.
If anyone here can help or point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.
This man has the most fantastic story to tell and I would love to uncover as much as possible.
Many thanks Andy.
