Hi, looking for clarification.  What is the difference between Rahever and Raheever in Co Cavan and where would I find the former?

All help gratefully received  gilli48

Hi all, I am hoping for help.  I was recently very lucky to find my 3xGreat Grandparents Thomas & Jane Gillick with their 2 small sons, Laurence & James, living in Rahever, Cavan.

I am stuck as to where the nearest RC Church would be.  I think that now it might be Ballinacree which is joined to Mountnugent.  However, I wonder whether this Church would be around in 1821.

I would be grateful for any assistance.  Thanks, Ann-Marie :)

Hi, I am looking for help with my Juett, Jewett, Jewit/t, family.

My 3xGreat Grandfather John Gooud was married to Eliza Juett in January 1831 in St George Hanover Square, Westminster.
Now, as I indicated above there are quite a few variations on her surname.  She, or the Vicar!, seemed to prefer Juett, however, the Eliza Jewett that I have found seems to be the nearest to her dates giving a Baptism date of 11 October 1807 in Feltham, Middlesex.  Going by the censuses of 1841 and 1851 her estimated date of birth is 1806 so this could fit.  There is a Joseph Juett b.1771 who appears in the 1841 census and then later the same year marries his housekeeper (!) Elizabeth Johns.  However, I'm not sure whether this fits.  He was a 70 year old Widower and she a 50 year old spinster.  Eliza could be his child by his first wife but I can't find any records under any permutation of the name.

I would grateful for any help here as I am trying to further my Maternal line and at present is has hit a brick wall with her.

Many thanks

Hi, I hope someone can help.  My 3xGreat Grandfather was John Gooud, a Gardener, born abt 1807 in Ketton.  I can follow him once censuses commence in 1841 but can't get anything before that.  Also I would love to know who his parents were.
