Staffordshire / Passmore family - 1891 Census
« on: Thursday 08 May 14 07:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Im struggling to find a 1891 census for members of my family.
I have them in 1881 at 11 Musk Lane. Joseph Passmore as head and Hannah as his wife living with children William, Mary, Isaac, Abraham, Thomas & Elizabeth.

In 1901 they were still at 11 Musk Lane with children Elizabeth, James, Joseph & Minnie.

Any help would be great! :)

Hi everyone :)

Im looking for this relative on the 1861 census but I'm struggling to find her.
In 1851 she was living with her parents in Jews Lane Sedgley and in 1871 she was living with husband Thomas Woodfield at her fathers in Straits Road Sedgley.

In between she has dissapeard! I found Thomas on the 1861 as living with his father and unmarried as they didn't marry till 1866!

Hi everyone,

I am stuggling to find any information regarding this iron casting foundry that my ancestors owned.
I have found an invoice on a local history website that said they were at Hall End, West Bromwich which is just off Church Lane.

They were aquired by Vono in 1952 then by Triplex in 1962.

If anyone can find any information, pictures or other relatives i would greatly appreciate it :)

Hi all :)

This is my 3rd gt uncle and i am strungling to find him and his family on the 1891 census.
He was born in 1851 in Dudley, Staffordshire and married Laura Brown in 1875.

The 1881 Census showed him living with Laura and two children Eliza and William in Fox Yards, Tipton.
He had his sister Rhoda listed as a visitor.

I have tried searching by him, his wife and two children and can't find anything!

Hi :)

I have been tracing this relative back using census's and parish records and I'm a bit confused.
She was born on the 1st June 1858.
She married Samuel Hartill on the 1st March 1876.
On the 1881 census she was listed as a visitor at her brother's William Caswell (and his wife Laura Brown) house with a Phoebe Hartill. Also listed as a visitor was a Lizzie Caswell who was 3 months old. This alone confused me but what else has confused me more is that i can't find her on any 1891 census. Its like she disappeared for 10 years as i found her in 1901 living with her husband and 5 children.

Can anyone shed any light on the please?

Staffordshire / Norman Osborne/Seymour May 1918

Hi everyone.
I have asked about this gentleman before, he is my great grandfather... I have some more information :D
The story was that his birth certificate says Seymour but everything else says Osborne and we couldn't find a link or go any further than that.

I found at the national archives that there was a divorce petition by Frederick Seymour against Laura Vowles (who we know is Normans mother) with a co-respondant of Arthur Osborne. I ordered the divorce papers and they came today.

It confirmed what i thought that Laura Vowles had committed adultery with Arthur while Frederick was serving in the war and Frederick doesn't believe he is the father.

I have tried looking for Frederick's army file to see what dates he was away from the UK. This would help determine who the father is but i can't seem to find it. Any help please?

The divorce papers say that Laura Vowles started her affair around January 1917.

Hi there :)
Been a while since i made a post.

I need help finding info on these pair. They were a couple, i believe they married but i can't find anything for them in parish records. All i have, which was from a reasonably sourced tree on Ancestry is that John Caswell was born in 1755 and died 1838 and Mary Stafford was born 1760 and died 1839.

Any help would be appreciated :)
