Armed Forces / can anyone identify this uniform
« on: Monday 18 June 18 15:21 BST (UK)  »
I'm helping a friend research her Osborne family from Belfast, she has come across a photo of a little girl with this soilder in the top left hand corner. she has no idea who he is or anything else about the photo apart from thinking the child is Minnie Osborne who died in 1918 .. I was thinking the soldier must be related why else would he be in the photo. Anyone any ideas?

looking for information or any descendants of John Thomas Jamieson and Mary Agnes McHenry who Married in June 1912 in Ballycastle. They had a son John born in 1913, a daughter Mary born 1915 and a daughter Bridget born 1917. I know they were at one time in Gourock Scotland in 1921 i do know they did come back to Ballycastle around 1921/22 but dont know if they stayed. John senior died in 1942 and is buried with his parents and 2 of the daughters (who were married to, a Joseph Campbell also in the grave and Miller.
I've no idea where his wife Mary Agnes died or is buried.

if anyone can relate to any of this id be very grateful

Searching for any information on Jamieson who had a daughter on 29th March 1921, address on birth cert 17 Kempock Street.  This child was adopted in Ballycastle county Antrim  and ive since found that the parents John Thomas Jamieson and the Mother Mary Agnes McHenry married in Ballycastle in 1912 they had a son John in 1913 a daughter Mary Margaret  1915 another daughter Bridget 1917 all in Ballycastle. I don't know when they moved to Scotland and if they had anymore children before the birth in 1921... The father John died 1942 and is buried in Ballycastle but I can't find a death for his wife and I don't know if they brought the child to Ballycastle and went back to Gourock at all.. If any one can help in any way at all is be very grateful

Scotland / help finding Travers ancestors
« on: Monday 05 January 09 22:20 GMT (UK)  »
I have just started doing my dads side of my tree
his mum was Born Margaret Hag(g)ans in 1908 in Belfast Co Antrim northern Ireland to James Hagans and Bridget Travers who married in 1887 he aged 19 she aged 20 in Belfast
On checking the 1911 census from county Antrim i have found that Bridget was born in Scotland her father was James Travers.

Bridget Travers and James Haggans had 12 children of which 9 were still alive in 1911 even though only 7 are on the census and Bridgets husband James Haggans isnt mentioned and she is down as married not a widow  :-\

Haggans Bridget  Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 43 F Scotland
Haggans Ellen Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 19 F  Belfast
Haggans Annie Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 15 F Belfast
Haggans Thomas Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 14 M Belfast
Haggans Patrick Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 7 M SCOTLAND
Haggans Christopher Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 5 M Belfast
Haggans Maggie Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 3 F Belfast (my gran)
Haggans Lizzie Chatham Street Clifton Antrim 8 months F Belfast

I see there is a gap between thomas 14 and Patrick 7, were James and Bridget living in Scotland from after Thomas birth to just before Christophers birth?
I was wondering if anyone can help me find out about Bridget travers born 1867 to James Travers
And can anyone help me find any children born to Bridget and James Haggans Or Hagans from 1896 until 1905
or even tell me where to go to look at the 1901 Scottish census Please

thank you
Colette
