Hi,

This might be a stupid question but...I was just wondering do the record offices hold copies of actual registers for bmds in their area (on slides or something).  i have been looking for a G Grandmas birth who seems a little bit elusive so was planning to visit a record office and have seen people on here asking other members to do a "look up" for more info? If you have the record reference can you see the actual information in the register, even if you have to order copies in the usual way?
