Ireland / Darby Craig
« on: Tuesday 28 September 10 09:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am asking for anyones help who is conversant with irish genealogy. I have searched for this for years and have always drawn a blank so i am asking to see if anyone can help me.

My Great Great Grandparents were called DARBY CRAIG and MARY CASSIDY I have their marriage certificate and it shows DARBY was aged 24 and and MARY was aged 23 that was in 1870 in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Their respective fathers names were DARBY CRAIG (deceased) occupation a Cooper and AMBROSE CASSIDY (deceased) occupation a Farmer.
I then have a birth certificate for their first child in 1873 but their surnames at this time are recorded as CRAGG
In the 1871 Census their surname is recorded as CREGG.
From the 1881 Census DARBY goes missing and there is no other trace of him.
I have tried to search any irish records I can find but there is nothing. Has anyone out there got any suggestions for me.
Thank you

Sharon

The Common Room / divorce records
« on: Friday 24 September 10 09:29 BST (UK)  »
hi there, wondered if anyone knows of a way of looking up divorce records for free. I have searched for my gt gt grandfather for a long time found his wife and children but he appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth so now think that he could have divorced her but dont know where or how to check that.
His name was Darby Craig and he was married to a Mary Cassidy they married in 1870 but by the 1881 census he had disappeared.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

« on: Friday 31 July 09 08:40 BST (UK)  »
wondered if anyone out there could help me my paternal surname is ARNOLD h owever i was adopted my mother's second husband so had nothing to do with any ARNOLDS at all until last year when i found out that i had 2 half sisters but that my biological father had died in the 1970's. since finding them i have been trying to trace the arnold family tree which all seems to come from somerset, castle cary, alford and lovington i think. i found a STEPHEN ARNOLD born c1791 in alford, somerset his wife was called MARTHA FRANCIS. i think his father was PHILIP ARNOLD born c1766 in lovington, somerset. i have tried lds but have found nothing. i would love to get back further but live in north yorkshire so cant easily pop to somerset, does anyone know if there are any records on line that could take me further back.
