Hi trying to find as much as I can about the above individual. He joined up on March 1909 and was invalided out on 08 March 1916. He then stayed as a territorial and appears to have been called up in 1939. If anyone can give me any info individual or battalion level I would be grateful.

The Common Room / Trying to find Anne Mattingly
« on: Wednesday 18 March 15 21:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, i have an Anne Mattingly born Stanford in the Vale Berkshire 1847 daughter of Joseph Mattingly and Jane Tombs who married an Albert John Smith in 1866. In 1871 they were at The Bricklayers Arms in Longcot Berkshire then in 12881 they had moved to Swindon Wiltshire. After that she disappears, I have her husband Albert living in Sweindon in 1891 as a Boarder and down as Single. Her 2 oldest children are out and working and living seperatly and her youngest is living with his grandparents.
I cant find a death for her and as Albert is down as Single in 1891 did she remarry?
Any help is appreciated.

The Common Room / place ofor birth on census
« on: Monday 23 February 15 20:09 GMT (UK)  »
I have a lady in my tree Sophia Bartlett who was born in 1838. I have been told her father Edward Bartlett was a soldier.
Now my question is to do with the fact on the census she put her place of birth as West India. On one occasion she put West Indian.
Does anyone know where she might be talking about?

Census and Resource Discussion / 1911 census look up
« on: Wednesday 19 November 14 14:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Would any one be kind enough to look up census records for me on FindMyPast? I have a subscription to Ancestry but it does seem to be missing a fair few Census records. I can't find one person and family in the 1911 on Ancestry but a quick check and I think they are on FindMyPast.
I would be grateful if someone could look up the record and send me a copy of the said record.
Made a bit of a boo boo by originally posting this on the Ancestry Forums oops, got told off.

London and Middlesex / Ernest William Plowman 1893-1947
« on: Friday 19 September 14 12:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi, having trouble with the above fella. The story is his mother was in service when he was born in 1893 and according to family lore he was placed with a family called Spicer. He did not know his Plowman name untill he found his mother when he was 18.
Now I have his marraige and death etc and I have a birth for an Ernest William born to an Emma Plowman in Marleybone in 1893. But, I can't find him in either the 1901 or 1911 census.
If anyone has any inkling as to what I can do to find him please enlighten me.
Thank you
Martin

Oxfordshire / Youghal Close, Shrivenham
« on: Friday 28 March 14 11:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all. Hope someone can help me. My Great Great Grandfather Martin Daley married a Salome Smith in 1855 in Paddington London, Her family had the old Bricklayers Arms on Longcott Green. Now Martin had come over from Ireland, more specifically Youghal in Ireland. My question is what is the reason for the naming of Youghal Close in Shrivenham? Is it a coincidence or a much closer connection?
