United States of America / Rua Mae Birkett
« on: Tuesday 04 July 17 17:53 BST (UK)  »
Rua Mae Birkett was according to the 1900 census born in August 1897 in Missouri. Her parents were William Walter Birkett and Emma Scranton.

I have found a marriage record for her marrying a Ray J. Cole on 3 September 1918 and her parents were given as W.W. Birkett and E. Scranton.

In the 1920 United States Federal Census and the 1925 Iowa Census collection she is living with her parents and her name is given as Rua Birkett and her marital status as single.  The family have moved to Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa from Missouri in these two census.

I cannot find a Rua Birkett or a Rua Cole in the 1930 census but have found a Rua M. Mileham living with a Willis E. Mileham in Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa.  I have found  record for a Rua M. Mileham giving her birth date as 15 August 1897 and a death for her in 1977.

I am trying to find out if Rue Mae Birkett was divorced from Ray J. Cole and married Willis E. Mileham.

I have found a death record for Willis E. Mileham in 1976.

Any information would be appreciated.

United States of America / Julie Ann Breidenthal
« on: Friday 24 February 17 17:53 GMT (UK)  »
Julie Ann Breidenthal was born in 1940 in Kansas, USA.  Her parents were John Willard Breidenthal and Mary Ruth Pyle.

I have found a marriage record for her marrying a Henry Clay Gold on 29 January 1972 and the marriage place is given as Jefferson City, Cole, Missouri.

I have also found a copy of the Marriage License Registration Place, Daviess, Missouri which is dated 2nd February, 1972.

I have now found a newspaper article which was in the Sunday News and Tribune, Jefferson City, Missouri which is dated November 1964 for the marriage of Mrs. Julie Breidenthal Lyon marrying a Henry Clay Gold at her parents home.  Her parents in the article are given as Mr. & Mrs John W. Briedenthal.

I am trying to find out had she been married before to someone with the surname Lyon.

I am also trying find out why they were married at her parents house in November 1964 and then I find a marriage Licence for January eight years later in 1972.

I have found death records for both Julie Breidenthal Gold (2004) and Henry Clay Gold (1995).  Henry Clay Gold is mentioned in the United States GenealogyBank Obituaries as her husband on Family Search but she is not metioned at all in his.

United States of America / Jean L Birkett and Maurine Shirley Birkett
« on: Sunday 20 November 16 16:05 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on Jean L. Birkett born abt. 1918 in Kansas and Maurine Shirley Birkett, they are the daughters of Harold Harry Birkett and Shirley Clark.

The last information I can find both of them in  the 1940 United States Census living with their father at Wichita City, Sedgewick County Kansas.

On some Family Trees I have found they have her marrying a Guido Tiezzo in October 1939 but on Find a Grave for a Jean Tiezzo it says her husband is Guido Tiezzo but her parents are named as Father: Chester Arthur Birkett and Mother: Elsie Elizabeth (Willhardt) Birkett.  So I do not think this is the same person I am looking for information on.

I have also found a Jean Birkett marrying a James Noel but am not sure whether this is the same person.

I have found information that a Maurine S. Birkett could have married a Edgar William (Bill) Price and they could have had a child Birkett William Price born 12943 died 1949.

I would be grateful for any information.  Thank you.

Kirkcudbrightshire / John Black b. 1799
« on: Friday 15 January 16 16:53 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a death record for John Black born or baptised on 1st March1799 at Urr he died 18th February 1879 aged 80 years.  He was the son of James Black born 1769 and Jannet Clark who are mentioned on the death record.

I was given permission to look at a family tree that included John Black and on this tree it had him marrying a Marrion Halliday and I have found a marriage for them on 20th December 1818 at Urr.  on the same tree it had his parents down as James Black and Jannet Clark.

On his death record it tells me that he was married to Agnes Robertson.  I have found a marriage record which reads 1849 April  22nd Proclaimed   Married  John Black and Agnes Robertson both of this parish.

His death was registered by his son James Black.  I have found a birth record for a James Black son of John Black and Marrion Halliday in 1822.

I have been unable to find a death record for a Marrion Black. So I am wondering if she died or they parted and he remarried or it is a different John Black that married Marrion Halliday.

Canada / The Family of William Copeland Black
« on: Sunday 01 November 15 16:13 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on the following members of William Copeland Black's family who lived in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Below is all the  information I have on the family.

William Copeland Black was born 1882 Keswick, Cumberland, England in 1882 he emigrated to Canada sometime in the early 1900's.  on 5th June 1911 he married Catherine O'Lone in Montreal she was born in 1885 in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1905.
William died on 2nd October 1969 and Catherine died in April 1935 and they were both buried at Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges Cemetery, Montreal, Quebec.

They had seven children I have found all the baptism records for them.

Frederick William Black born 1912 I have not found any more information for him.  I know that he had died before 1977 as I have found that information in obituary for his brother Harold.

Catherine Mildred Black born 30th July 1914 she died 1989 and was buried with her parents.
I know that she never married.

Harold James Black born 1915 he married Theresa Keyes on 28th November 1942 and died 23rd November 1977.

Edgar Beatty Black born 1919 he died in 17th December 1944 in WWII,
.

Douglas Black born 1920 I know that he was still alive in 2008 as he is the only surviving person in the family according to the obituary of his brother Gerald Francis Black.  I have found a Canadian Voters list in 1968 for him living with Catherine and Fred (who was mentioned as retired) and after Douglas's name has widowed.

Staffordshire / Mary Eliza Jones
« on: Sunday 28 June 15 16:29 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find information for a Mary Eliza Jones born 1862 .  The birth registration is given as Jan-Feb-May Registration District Wolverhampton

Her parents are John Jones born 1835 in Brewood, Staffordshire and Elizabeth Hackley born 1836.

I can find her in the following census 1871 living at Goldthorne Hill Road, Wolverhampton.

I have found a 1881 census for her mother an Elizabeth Jones living on her own and she is down as a widow so John must have died between 1871 and 1881. I cannot find a census for her or any of her brothers or sister.

She had the following brothers William b. 1858, James b. 1859 and Samson b.1964 and a sister Lucy b. 1866.

In 1891 I have found an Elizabeth Jones (down as a widow) and her brother Samson born 1864 living with a Frederick Wright and his wife Mary and their family.  I cannot find a marriage record for Frederick Wright and a Mary Jones and am wondering if I have gone down the wrong route.

I have been looking for details of James Martin born 1856 in Stoke on Trent.

In the 1871 census he is still living with his parents Charles and Mary Martin

In the 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 I have found a James Martin born Stoke, Staffordshire living at Horwich, Lancashire with a wife named Elizabeth.  In the 1911 census they have been married 34 years.

I have found a marriage for a James Martin marrying an Elizabeth Houghton registered Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire.  I have been trying to find out if this is the same James Martin whose father is Charles Martin.

Staffordshire / Gertrude Jones born 1868
« on: Monday 09 February 15 17:06 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for details of a Gertrude Jones born 1866 at Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire she is the daughter of Thomas Jones who married Sarah Martin.  The last census I found for Gertrude living with her parents was in 1881.

I have found a Gertrude Jones in the following census 1891, 1901 and 1911 living with a James Jones born 1866 at Holywell, Wales,  In the 1911 census it says they have been married 23 years but I cannot find a marriage for them and they have 7 children living in Stoke on Trent.    On each census that Gertrude was living with James it says she was born at Hanley, Staffordshire,  I see looking at a map that Hanley is part of Stoke on Trent.

I am trying to find out if this is the same Gertrude who is the daughter of Thomas and Sarah and then living with James Jones.

Lancashire / Annie Martin born 1902
« on: Saturday 24 January 15 11:59 GMT (UK)  »
I am searching for any information on Annie Martin who I have found a birth registration for in the fourth quarter 1902.  Her parents were Alfred Martin and Ellen Woolley and she was born in Horwich, Lancashire.

I am a bit confused as I have found in a few family trees on Ancestry an Annie Beatrice Martin her birth being given as 20 February 1903 and her parents are down as Alfred Martin and Ellen Woolley and emigrated to USA with a Frank Ewart Bacon in 1920 who she eventually married and lived in Pennsylvania.  On one family tree they have the source of her birth as the 1902 birth registration which I found but the birth on the tree given as 20 February 1903.

I am trying to find out if Annie Martin and Annie Beatrice Martin are the same person.

Any help would be appreciated.
