Dublin / Tim Kelly Invincible from Dublin
« on: Wednesday 15 January 20 18:48 GMT (UK)  »
Im looking for family information about Tim Kelly the Invincible. An anecdote about my grand uncle in late 1800s was that having deserted the British Army and before emigrating to the USA he stayed in Dublin with Kellys in Cabinteely because they were cousins of his wife who was a Clerkin from Monaghan. Of course it could be that he stayed with Clerkins in Cabinteely who were cousins of Kelly.
My family source has since died so I cant go back there.
Thanks

Dublin / Pimlico maps
« on: Monday 07 October 19 16:22 BST (UK)  »
1 Where might I find a map of Pimlico, the street not the area, around late 1700s early 1800s. I have an address, I think from Thoms or other directory, and just trying to locate that address on the ground. Perhaps the original property was demolished to make way for Dublin Corporation/DCC houses on that street now.
2. Any other books or detailed information about that area/street? I have a copy of Mairin Johnson's book ' Around the banks of Pimlico' but it deals with from late 1800s to more recent times which is later than my time of interest
3. I read somewhere that the families in the area from late 1700s were mostly English woolen workers and Hugenout lace workers. Where could I find out more about that?
4 What society/ies, groups, organisations have mor einfo about the area around that time?
pologies fie multiple and long-winded questions and thanks in advance.
Thanks

« on: Sunday 19 August 18 21:51 BST (UK)  »
Anyone done research or any info general or other appreciated on theses families Cloughjordan or thereabouts start of 1800s.
I'm trying to find Tom/Thomas Clarke born 1814, supposedly Cloughjordan to a Clarke father and mother Mary Conroy/Conboy/Conrahy. Tom probably baptised RC, locally, and father was of Protestant persuasion. Father probably died 1816-1818.

Any 'leads' or info gratefully appreciated
