I am trying to check the data for the following marriage - on the 4th of June 1877, Thomas Jackson, a Farmer of Mill Bank Denby Dale was said to have married Martha Ann Sykes, a servant of ? Fancy? Hall, Almondbury at The Independent Chapel, Ramsden Street, Huddersfield.
This information appeared in a letter, but I am struggling to find proof of the ceremony, or any marriage records for Ramsden Street Independent Chapel.
I have tried The Local Studies Library and WYAS (Kirklees)
Please can you help?

« on: Friday 19 May 17 14:27 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone suggest where I might search for the missing records of Deighton Methodist Chapel, prior to 1867.  I am looking for the records circa 1833.  Nothing indicated at The National Archives or the West Yorkshire Archives at Wakefield.  I have also tried Huddersfield Local Studies Library without success.  All suggestions most welcome.

Has anyone used this service?  Were you satisfied with the quality of the PDF document?

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Leeds Commercial Directory for 1846
« on: Saturday 01 October 16 20:51 BST (UK)  »
Please could someone with access to the Leeds Directory for 1846, let me know what the entry for Mr TW Green(s) business in Commercial Street, has to say?  According to the Leeds Intelligencer (3/10/1846) he displayed a portrait by Briggs of London, of vocalist Mrs Sunderland in his premises.  There is no indication in the press report of the type of business.
Thanks in advance.

Tom Wilkinson Sunderland died in 1900.  On census records he was listed as a bank cashier, but the story is that he became a bank manager.  I am looking for suggestions on how I could prove his employment status?  His final address was in Halifax WRY.  His probate does not mention his employment.
All suggestions welcomed.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Deighton (near Huddersfield) Musical Society
« on: Friday 06 May 16 11:51 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have any information about Deighton Musical Society, circa 1833?  No success with WYAS (Kirklees) or the adjoining Local Studies Library.  A search of the British Newspaper Archives didn't turn up any useful information.  Any information would be welcomed.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Elizabeth WHEATLEY, born Isle of Wight 1859
« on: Friday 08 April 16 15:13 BST (UK)  »
first of all, greetings from Yorkshire.  I would welcome some help to establish the baptism of Elizabeth WHEATLEY, first child of Joseph WHEATLEY, Gentleman or Draper, of Brighouse, West Riding of Yorkshire, and his recent wife Agnes nee SUNDERLAND.  The freebmd records list the birth as being registered in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.  I think the couple and their daughter may have stayed on the island for some time, as on the 25 February 1860, the Yorkshire Gazette newspaper carried the news that Mrs Sunderland (mother of Agnes) and a high profile vocalist was at present in the Isle of Wight.  By the time their second daughter Susan was born, Joseph, Agnes and Elizabeth were back living in Brighouse, West Riding of Yorkshire.
With thanks
