Wiltshire / George Hitchings/Hitchins

Hi,
I am trying to trace the parents of George Hitchings/Hitchins He was born in 1801 in Devises, Wiltshire. At some stage he moved to Brighton, Sussex where he married Eliza in 1821.

Could somebody point me in the right direction on how to trace his parents?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is access to the records regarding Pouchlands House, Ease Chiltington.
and if so where I could read them.

My Grandmother (Eva Catherine Jeffrey) was registered as staying there when she had a child in 1920. Also my Aunt Ella Violet Jeffrey was put there for some minor misdemeanour when she was about 13yrs old (aout 1933)

I would love to find out why they were there.

Hi,

I am trying to trace the parents of William Drury. He was born in Brighton in 1806 and was married to Sophia Giles in 1829. The last record I have of him is in the 1941 census when he was aged about 45 and living in Brighton with his family. Is there any way I can find out his parents names?

Hi All

Would it be possible for somebody to look up the marriage details of John Jeffrey. The information I have so far is that he was born about 1801 in Little Horsted, Sussex. He and his wife had 10 children together the first Thomas Jeffrey being born in 1839.

Sussex / Barnett/Jeffrey/King

Hi All,

I have a small type birth certificate for James Douglas Jeffrey birth 30 October 1928 but registered on 9 January 1929.

I have checked on Freebmd but the birth is registered on their site in March 1929. It is also registered on the same day but also in the mothers married name of Barnett and her maiden name of King!

Would there be a reason for this.

I am trying to trace the ancestors of George Hitchings he was born about 1797 in Devizes Wiltshire. He then moved to Brighton and married in 1821 to Eliza Wilson.

Hi All,

I am trying to trace a George Hitchings. I am not sure about his date of birth but he married Eliza Wilson on 18 December 1821 in Brighton. It says on the SMI that they were both of the Parish.

I can find no trace of them after that time.

They had a son, Alfred who was born in 1831 in Brighton.
I have found him on the 1861 and 1881 census but nothing after that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all

I am trying to find out about my relation Violet Ella Jeffrey. She was born in 1919 in the Lewes area. When she was about 13 she apparently committed some minor misdemeanor and was institutionalised until she was in her forties. I believe she was sent somewhere near Petworth but am not too sure.

Is there any way I could track these records down as I would like to find out what did happen.
