Family History Beginners Board / Need help with Sutherlands

Hi,
I am trying to trace James Sutherland's parents John Sutherland and Janet Campbell, or even confirmation of James Sutherland's date of birth. I got the names of his parents from James Sutherland's death certificate.
James Sutherland was apparently born about 1822/1823 in Aberlour Bannfshire Scotland according to every census from 1851 until 1901 with the exception of one which says it was Aberdour, however I cannot find confirmation of his birth with these parent names, location or age that he consistently gives to signify that he was born around 1822-23. Since I got no luck with his birth, I tried to find a 1841 census for the parents but hit a wall of nothing, I tried for a marriage for the parents again blank. I have tried using Ancestry, Scotlandspeople, family search, again nothing. The only info that I have that is concrete is James Sutherland census returns 1851-1901, his marriage to Ann Hutcheon in Aberdeen (Old Machar)29 November 1850 and his death certificate when he died in Glasgow 17 December 1906.
