Hi I am looking for information regarding the Inquest of Thomas Robson who died 9th November 1867. His death certificate states he died from a fracture of the skull by being crushed between two coal wagons. I wondered if anyone knew where I might find it as it might help solve a puzzle if the inquest mentions his family.
On the 1871 census some of his children are living at Humford Hill, Bedlington Thomas aged 19, Joseph aged 11, William aged 8, Jane Ann half sister to head aged 5 and Elizabeth aged 2. His eldest son John aged 21 is working on a farm of William Smith in East Hollywell. Thomas was only 42 when he died in 1867 and his wife died in 1863. The census also mentions a housekeeper Anne Murdie who was my husbands 2 x great grandmother Although the two half sisters Jane Ann and Elizabeth are named Robson their births are both registered as Murdie. Could Thomas be the father but she didnt name him?
It dosent stop there to complicate things even further Ann Murdie (Mordue) marries John Robson, Thomas`s eldest son in 1874. They had 2 sons Robert in 1872 and John Thomas in 1875.
Ann Murdies first child was my husbands great grandfather John Murdie in 1854 in Shoreswood, Northumberland. No father named. He seemed to live with 2 of his uncles when growing up probably because his mother worked on the farms. Ann also had a son called George in Ashington 1864. His birth certificate also shows no fathers name.
Any help would be much appreciated
