Cork / William Bradley died Fermoy camp 1915- any info?
« on: Monday 26 October 20 20:29 GMT (UK)  »
My great, great uncle died in Fermoy camp aged 19 in 1915 after only a week in British army, with seizure recorded as his cause of death.  I wondered whether there would be any local records of this, especially around the unusual cause of death and any reasons his body was buried in Cork and wasnt returned to his family in Derry?
Thanks

Donegal / Lynch family St Johnstown- place name
« on: Tuesday 31 July 18 20:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi folks, local knowledge required of the Raphoe district- the attachment is an extract from the baptism records of All Saints and may relate to my GGG and GG Granda's from there, the youngest I know was called Hugh Lynch.  The pic identifies Hugh and Mary Lynch as parents, and Hugh and Mary Lynch as sponsors- I'm guessing they are 2 different couples and that the words after their names are where they live- probably near or in St Johnstown. I cant read them and wondered if anyone local to there recognised the places?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I found very limited information on this soldier, who died on 1/1/16 and is buried in Derry, I think he might be a great uncle but I can't find a corresponding Irish death record and there are no other details given at the Commonwealth graves site. Any suggestions?

« on: Saturday 06 September 14 20:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I managed to find my 3xG grandparents, Hugh and Bella Lynch in the 1901 census living at St Johnstown- but they have vanished by the 1911 census and dont show up on Irish searches  after this, apart from leaving Ireland does anyone have any other ideas of how to track them?

Thanks

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Confirmation of cause of death
« on: Wednesday 03 September 14 20:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I think the cause of death is given as "Spasm of Glottus, Epilepsy" i.e. he died by choking during a seizure- but I would appreciate confirmation or clarification

thanks
