I know he died 23rd July, 1973 but can't find a burial location.  Grateful for any suggestions please.

Other Countries / 2x leaving Argentina as missionaries - 1920?
« on: Friday 13 November 20 20:51 GMT (UK)  »
I have two ladies leaving Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 1920 bound for Southampton, England. Both are listed as "missionaries", which they were not. One had lived in Brazil for 18 years, both were British nationals returning to England on  the Royal Mail Lines vessel, Avon.

Why would they be listed this way?

Thx

Kent Lookup Requests / Clarissa Rawlings Wells
« on: Monday 31 August 20 09:14 BST (UK)  »
Looking into Mrs Carissima Wells, in later life she added Rawlings her maiden name as her middle name, 1872-1962. After the divorce from Reginald Fairfax Wells, about 1937 she lived in Blackheath and then Tudor Lodge, Crofton Road Orpington. Described as the Farnborough end of Crofton Road. I can find no mention of her until her death in 1962, when she was still living in the same house.

I wonder if anyone has come across Carissima Wells, who never remarried in your research. The family can not help. Grateful for for assistance please? Thx.

Europe / Elisabeth Schmidt later Johnson ??
« on: Monday 14 October 19 11:32 BST (UK)  »
Grateful for any help, I have hit a research brick wall.

I have a Elisabeth Schmidt born in Schwerin, Germany and then lived in Mecklenburg.  She married Uwe Klaus Dietrich Johnson 1934-1984 in Rome in 1962, after escaping from East Germany I think she died in Germany in 2005, having divorced her husband in 1978.

I can find no birth record for her, or confirmation of death.

Uwe Johnson was a well known German writer and the pair lived together in New York, Germany and then for the last 10 years of Uwe Johnson's life in Sheerness, Kent. In Sheerness she lived at 26 Marine Parade with husband till 1978, then moved to 2 Sheppey Cottages in Neptune Terrace, Sheerness with their daughter.

Has anyone got a spare 5 minutes to look at this? I need a new pair of eyes!!!

Thank you.

Kent / Harry Wright, Orpins Store?
« on: Monday 17 June 19 18:57 BST (UK)  »
Hello:

Searching for a Harry Wright who during 1950's ran a store in Brabourne Lees called Orpins. He lived in Granary Court Road, Smeeth in Kent. He was well known in the area, a keen gardener and gambler. He had links to Peter Cecil Wilson, who he used to work for.

I have tried all the usual means of research - I just wondered if someone remembers his name. Thank you

Mike
