Berwickshire / Anderson Family - Berwickshire
« on: Friday 14 September 12 08:54 BST (UK)  »
Ths week I provided a tour of the Scottish Borders for Jackie & Frank Cochin. Jackie’s Anderson ancestors had been Blacksmith’s in Cockburnpath, Edington and Crossgatehall before emigrating to America in the 19th century. If anyone is researching the following families, please contact me at (*):

Thomas Fair & Mary Davidson
John Anderson & Helen Sutherland
John Anderson & Elizabeth Hardie

It was a pleasure to organise Jackie’s ancestral tour and to share her delight in finding her ancestral roots in the Scottish Borders. Meanwhile here is report of Jackie & Frank's visit to the Scottish Borders:

Many thanks

Midlothian / Elizabeth (Lizzie) Williamson
« on: Friday 05 November 10 20:51 GMT (UK)  »
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Williamson was born on 21st June 1846 at Glenochar, Crawford Parish, Lanarkshire; daughter of John Williamson & Margaret Haddow.

In the 1881 Census she was living as a Servant ( Sewing Maid ) in the household of Daniel MacNee at 6 Learmonth Terrace, Edinburgh.

Family legend has it that Auntie Lizzie ran a Boarding House at Tollcross in Edinburgh.

Despite research at New Register House & on Scotland's People I've been unable to find a Death Certificate or locate her in the 1891 & 1901 Censuses.

Any information or research hints would be very much appreciated.

« on: Friday 05 November 10 20:32 GMT (UK)  »
William Holmes Mackie & Jane Williamson were married in the Parish Church, St. Mary's Parish, Lambeth on 18th March 1893.

William was born in Aberdeen, Scotland around 1863 and the son of Robert Mackie.

Jane Williamson was born in Crawford Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland on the 29th October 1855 and the daughter of John Williamson & Margaret Haddow.

In 1901 they were living at 119 Morely Avenue, Wood Green along with their children:

William John Mackie born 1894
Alexander Shead Mackie born 1895
Margaret Jane Mackie born 1897

In 1911 the family were living at 80 Lopen Road, Edmonton.

Jane died at 80 Lopen Road on 19th July 1937. I believe that William died in 1948.

I'm looking for any information regarding any descendants of William & Jane; any help would be very much appreciated.

Given that Jane died at Lopen Road, Edmonton; where would she likely be buried?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
