Gloucestershire / Amy (Amey) Iles
« on: Thursday 11 September 14 20:03 BST (UK)  »
Good evening

I am wondering if anyone can help me please?

I am researching my family tree but have drawn a blank with a sister of my great grandfather.

What I know:
Amy (Amey) Iles was born in 1876 in Lechlade, Gloucestershire.
Her father was Timothy Iles (b 1847 in Lechlade, d 1909 in Cirencester)
Her mother was Emma Iles nee Carter (b 1847 Abingdon, d 1886 Cirencester)
On the 1881 Census she was living in Lechlade with her family
Siblings
Emma (b 1865, d 1889)
Caroline (b 1867, d 1890)
Frederick (b 1872, d 1928)
Florence (b 1878, d 1904) married name Osborne
Minny (b 1881, d ??)
Alfred (b 1885, d 1916)

What I would like to know
* Did she marry
* When did she die
* Any children

I have searched for Census, Marriage and Death Records without success.

Any help would be appreciated

Nairnshire / Harold Donald Iles
« on: Tuesday 09 September 14 16:10 BST (UK)  »
Afternoon

Looking for some background information if anyone has it on Harold Donald Iles

He was born Harold Donald McLean in St Georges, London, Middlesex in Oct 1895 out of wedlock to Margaret Jane McLean (b 1873 in Dyke, Nairnshire, d 1873 in Auldearn, Nairnshire). When Margaret married Frederick William Iles in 1898, Harold's surname was changed to Iles.
In the 1901 Census he was at 20 Bath Street, Oxford, as a scholar.
The family moved to Auldearn between 1905 and 1908.
He enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders 2nd Battalion but was killed on the 6th of May 1915 at Flanders by the effects of a chlorine gas attack. He is buried in Hazebrouck Communal Cemetery (Nord France).

If anyone has any information regarding
* when and why the family moved from Oxfordshire to Nairnshire
* what he did before enlisted
* or anything else regarding Harold or his family
I would appreciate the information.

Many thanks in advance

Nairnshire / Robert Watson born Auldearn 1888
« on: Tuesday 09 September 14 15:45 BST (UK)  »
Afternoon,

Wondering if anyone can help me please?

Looking for information on Robert Watson.

He was born in Auldearn, Nairnshire in 1888 to Robert (b 1855 d 1912) and Elizabeth nee MacDonald (b 1862 d 1944).

He married Jane Chisholm Lumsden in Inverness in 1918

Known Census info is
1891 Census ... Clunas Buildings, Auldearn .. age 2
1901 Census ... Lethen Road Auldearn .... scholar
1911 Census ... Firthside Bothy, Nairn .... domestic gardener

I am led to believe that he served in the Army Service Corps in WW1 but have not found any evidence to prove this.

Looking for any information on
1. Military service
2. What happened to him after 1918 as I cannot find any info
3. When he died

Many thanks in advance for any and all comments received
