Ireland / Reardon's - Mystery man!
« on: Thursday 29 January 15 11:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am looking for any information on Patrick Reardon / O'roidan, he was born in Ireland around 1835 ish.
He married Ann Reid in 1858 in England, and had 3 children with her, Ellen Reardon 1860, Patrick E Reardon 1863, and Caroline J reardon 1866.
After appearing on a 1861 Census with Ann and Ellen, he seems to disappear, he's not on any other Census records that I have for Ann and the kids, and they all state that she is married, not widowed. His occupation on the 1861 census is "Writer".
I think Patrick came from Cork in Ireland, according to his and Ann's marriage cert, his father was also called Patrick Reardon. His wife Ann was born and died in London, England. She was a Dressmaker.
So i am trying to find out where Patrick went, he obviously came back to the family every so often to have 2 more children with Ann. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Melanie

England / Missing puzzle pieces
« on: Monday 29 December 14 15:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am doing some digging on a ol' skeleton in my family tree, and I was wondering if you could help. Gladys May Emery's name came up when I was researching the burial of my Grandfathers (Daniel E Davies) first wife.
Her name is Constance May Fryer... Nee Dyson, after my Grandfather she married a man named William Alfred Fryer, today I contacted Plumstead Cemetery where they are both buried, just to check that they were buried together so I knew it was the right couple, and the lovely lady I spoke to said there's also another burial in the same plot as them, her name is Gladys May Emery.. Nee Underdown. She died on 30/1/1969 and she is buried with Constance and William Fryer....
I know that Gladys' son Leon Emery married a woman by the name of Alice E Briggs (1924-1999)
In my family tree for Constance, her mothers name is Jane Briggs, she was born in 1881 and she died in 1961.
I was wondering if anyone can help me find a connection between them.

I am hoping to find living relatives of Constance, or William, and possibly Gladys to ask some questions about what may have happened, hoping of course that information was passed down...

Thanks

Mel

Armed Forces / RAF - Military number help!
« on: Wednesday 10 September 14 16:00 BST (UK)  »
Hey everyone, i'm researching my fathers ancestry, and as i never met them, and he hasn't spoken to anyone in the last 50 years (hes 68 now) I am struggling slightly with a few details.

On my Dads birth certificate under the fathers occupation part, it has a RAF LAC military number, and I have run out on ideas on where to find his military record. My Dad was always told her was a aircraftsman, I've tried googling the number to no avail, and I've searched through all the military records on ancestry. co.uk. He was from Wales but we believe was living in london at the time of joining the RAF.

Any help is much appreciated
