Would some kind person be able to find this family together in the 1871 Census for me please?

Sarah Lizzie OGDEN, married George Watson GRAYDON my great Uncle at St Pauls Church Deaf Hill in May 1901.  Her birth Certificate of 21 Aug 1878 Haltwhistle gives her mother as Elizabeth OGDEN Domestic Servant.

There is in 1881 Durham Census an Elizabeth OGDEN Widow aged 59, Sons
Abraham 29 bn Haltwhistle.  William 15 Knarsdale Sarah L bn Lambley Northumberland aged 2 grand daughter  I would like to know who her husband was please?

James OGDEN 32 bn Haltwhistle wife Margaret 23 bn Haltwhiste with son James 2 bn Lambley, in the same row as Elizabeth OGDEN.

An Elizabeth OGDEN aged 24 is with a family in Cumberland bn Knarsdale Cumberland.  They were John and Elizabeth GRAHAM.  This looks as though she might be the mother of Sarah Lizzie.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / APPLEBY My brick wall
« on: Saturday 28 March 09 11:17 GMT (UK)  »
Mary APPLEBY married William KITCHEN 1st March 1845 her father was Samuel APPLEBY, Farmer she was 19, according to this certificate.  At Myton on Swale. Both signed with a cross.

I have been unable to find her birth anywhere but have recently discovered:

Mary Ann APPLEBY Chr 22 June 1823 to Samuel APPLEBY and Jane HOPKINSON, St Peter Leeds.   I think Samuel died in 1835 according to the National Burial Index.  A Jane died Leeds in 1853 Free BMD.

My KITCHEN family does have a son named Benjamin.  Samuel’s father was Benjamin!

Is there a Mary APPLEBY anywhere on the 1841 census that might fit please?

Do you think this might be the right Mary APPLEBY she has no idea where she was born but on one census it was WHITLEY which seem quite close to WORTLEY where this family seems to be from?

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / HARRISON Malton
« on: Tuesday 10 February 09 13:33 GMT (UK)  »
Freda HARRISON was born abt 1817, from the marriage certificate.

My Uncle James Fletcher GRAYDON married Kate Freda HARRISON 24 Feb 1838 aged 21.  Her father is John HARRISON Waterworks Empoyee.  She was living at 41 Castlegate Malton. John HARRISON and my Uncle John Donald DUGGLEBY were witnesses.

I am unable to find her parents, she would be born around 1817.  I didn't know that she was named Kate as I always called her Aunty Freda!

I am unable to find her on Free BMD, although there is quite a lot from Malton, I have also tried Yorkshiire BMD's where I discovered the marriage.  She died about a year ago and I sent a letter of condolence to the Undertaker to pass on to my cousins.

Unfortunately there was no reply.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / HARRISON Malton
« on: Saturday 24 January 09 13:37 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the family my uncle married into.  He was James Fletcher GRAYDON Born Trimdon 1915.

He married Freda HARRISON around 1937 in Malton and had children Ian and Pearl.  I have found Freda's parents on FREE BMD in March 1913 as Henry E HARRISON and ? MATTHEWS.

I tried to get in touch with my cousins as I noticed my Aunt had died in Malton in 2005.  There was no reply to my lettter to them via the undertakers.

Is there anyone who could find out the ? MATTHEWS on free BMD as I am not clever enough? The surname BARTINDALE was mentioned in the obituary too.

Durham / HOWEY Gosforth
« on: Wednesday 24 December 08 16:16 GMT (UK)  »
I would welcome any advice from people on this list, of how to find them, or their descendents.

I am looking for the family of my Aunt Lilian KITCHEN - married Thomas HOWEY in 1920.  They had 4 children         I believe Thomas died aged about 40 and I have been told that they lived in the Pit Houses at Gosforth.

My father Charles KITCHEN was in the RAF for 30 years and died when I was 24.   Because of the War years I have never know anybody from his side of the family.
