Family History Beginners Board / Daniel McAinsh of Clackmannan
« on: Tuesday 25 November 14 16:31 GMT (UK) »
For 35 years I have searched for this person. Daniel born 24/6/1814 in Clackmannan had a son James born 1/11/1839 with Elizabeth Paterson. Daniel is given as deceased on James wedding certificate dated 20/7/1865. The family rumour is that Daniel accepted the blame for Elizabeth's condition and was paid to take the blame. There is some circumstantial evidence in that James had a large house in Clackmannan. Should anyone come across any information on Daniel McAnsh or Elizabeth Paterson I would be grateful to receive.
As this is my first post I started tracing my family history after Gordon Honeycombe's programme on ITV about 40 years ago. On day 1 the registrar in Alloa allowed me to use his office and copy what I wanted and I bought a copy of James' wedding certificate which was typed so a copy is a copy and every time I was able to visit NRH Edinburgh I would do my homework and copy about 40 certificates for the price of the seat.
