Caernarvonshire / David (Dafydd) Roberts from Trefriw
« on: Saturday 04 June 11 15:00 BST (UK)  »
I am researching a David (Dafydd) Roberts born at Bryn Pyll, Trefriw in 1835.
He married an Elizabeth Mullholland (from Belfast) and also a lady (name unknown to me) from Connah's Quay

He had 5 children, Esther, Robert, Elizabeth, David and Gwen.

David lived in the  Auckland area of New Zealand in his final years, previous to this he was a master mariner.
He  died in 1890 in Sydney Australia whilst on a journey back home to Wales.

I am told that his son's served in the First World war "with distinction"

I am wondering if there is anyone reading this who might be connected to the family, if so could you get in touch. Thank you.

He married an Elizabeth Mulholland (date unknown) and at some time lived in New Zealand.
He was on his way back home to Wales in 1890 when he died in Sydney (Aus)
Is there any way of discovering more details of him and his family.

Kent Lookup Requests / Saxton family in Medway area
« on: Monday 24 August 09 17:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi!
I am trying to find details of a  Saxton family  in the Gillingham/ Chatham area.
In particular a James John Saxton (1861 - 1903) and his wife Harriet Bowman. James John was a butcher and was born in New Brompton.
I believe his father was a William Saxton (1812 - 1883) I do seem to be having trouble locating them in many of the censuses.
Is there anyone connected to this family in the loop who may be able to help me?
many thanks.

Completed Census Requests / 1891 Trefriw census (Roberts)
« on: Sunday 23 May 04 17:16 BST (UK)  »
I am rying to trace a Gwen Roberts born 1860 in Trefriw, Caernafonshire. I believe she was still living in Trefriw in 1891.

Also trying to trace if her brother Robert Owen Roberts was living with her at this time. he was born in Trefriw in  1863. He was a Master Mariner, so maybe he was sailing the high seas at this time!

I'd be grateful for any help. Elsbeth

Cumberland / Stockbridge and Pears
« on: Tuesday 11 May 04 13:31 BST (UK)  »
I am researching my  husband's family of Stockbridge and Pears.
His Gt Grandfather was a Robert Graham Pears who was born in Penrith in 1857. I have quite a lot of details on his forebears.
Where I am stumped however is the Gt Grandmother  Elizabeth Stockbridge (Robert Graham's wife) She was the daughter of a George and Margaret Stockbridge who lived in Penrith in 1881.
I cannot seem to get further back with this branch of the family, although I think that George Stockbridge was born Hesket in the Forrest in 1827 and that Margaret was born Margaret Baty in Laversdale in 1830.
Is there anyone out there with connections to this family? I'd love to get in touch with them if there is.

Elsbeth Pears.
